Want to stay in the downtown area. I have reservations at Chez Piillipe’s, but heard it is a little overrated and overpriced. I also hear pd Flight was pretty good. I do not want a steakhouse.
TIA for the recs

Flight is pretty good. For more casual you can get some ribs and listen to fantastic live music at BB Kings spot on Beale st. Ribs aren’t bad either.

when will you be there?
if its after april 1 and you dont go to a memphis redbirds game (stadium is downtown across from the peabody) you are missing out. the stadium is amazing.
Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous is right there also, it aint the best you can get but its a classic and still very good.

Flight is really good. It’s a fun concept if you’ve never been.
Have never been to Itta Bena, but have heard good things.
I don’t love Rendezvous’ food, but I’m not snob about it. It is a Downtown Memphis staple, so we’ll go when invited.

Mcewens, Flight and Chez Phillpe are all very good. Paulette’s is a little farther but still downtown and on the River. It’s really good too.

I ate at Iris a few months back. It was really good. The chef used to cook in Nola years back. Very nice guy, Kelly English.
