This one if for the folks who work/play downtown. What's y'alls favorite bar room for after work brews? I'm partial to Squeaky Pete's currently. They've got a great draft beer selection and a serviceable food menu if you need something to eat. TV's properly spaced out and they generally cover the sporting events that you would want to watch. Pool table is in good condition and dart board machine as backup if needed.

First time I've ever heard of someone going to Squeaky Petes. Probably would have long since closed except I'm sure they got a decent payday for being a set piece for that National Treasure reboot.

This should be a high priority for the City. Close 3rd Street off on weekend nights to allow pedestrian traffic, and get the bars back. It is crazy how dead that area is with one of the biggest universities in the country down the road.

Bengal Tap Room has probably the biggest draft selection, also sells food later into the night.

O'Hara's (formerly Happy's) has good beers available.

The Gregory (inside The Watermark) has good cocktails and food.

The River Room for cocktails and a chill atmosphere.

Blend if you want wine and cheese boards.

Downtown Bangkok had some pretty good bars.

So did downtown Frankfurt in Germany.

Downtown Panama City, Panama had some good spot, but was mostly sketchy.

Downtown Shreveport and Syracuse suck pretty bad.

Don’t get me started on Downtown Leesville, Louisiana or Hinesville, Ga.

And now Happy's is open across the street.

Last time I was there The Bald Eagle was a membership pay to play type bar. At like 2pm on a Thursday we walked in and we got a spiel about how there is a membership for purchase to enjoy the bar but if we're cool and tip the bartender we will let yall stay this time. The 4 people in there seemed pretty uninviting and weird so we had one drink then left.

Bengal Tap Room is alright. I really like Squeaky Pete's when I'm downtown. They have a friendly staff and always playing good Texas/Red Dirt country music I can sing along with. The River Room has some really great cocktails and a nice little sitting area to enjoy while they have some vinyl spinning.

I don't drink downtown often but when I do it's for happy hour before the sun goes down anytime between 2p-6p.

I live down here and normally hit Sqeaky Pete’s because of the food menu. Ohares and now reopened Happys are also cool spots. If you chase the specials it can be very affordable to go out during the week, 4 dollar drafts at Pete’s on Tuesday and happy hour 4 to 7 each day. River Room can be pricey depending on your drink selection

Yep, they just say you have to pay for membership. Just be cool and ask the bartender to add you to the text list. They'll text you the password to use on the next visit. I can only assume it's to keep some folks out when needed.

Yup. Best buffalo chicken tenders and waffle fries I've had both inebriated and sober.

If I somehow find myself out drinking in downtown past 11pm I'm likely going to Schlitz anyway.

Downtown BR from around 2006-2013 was really a great and fun place to hang out.
