Mont-Saint-Michel is definitely worth the visit. Try your hardest to get there before the tour busses start to pull in at 11 AM, aim for 8 or 9 am. Don’t bother wasting time eating there also as right down the road from the parking lots are other restaurants. Rush to the top abbey and enjoy the sights without being in a mass crowd

I went a month ago and it’s amazing in person. Inside the walls were packed with people, like can’t walk crowded. Highly recommend seeing it in person and getting there early before the tour busses arrive
Actually this is my treat and I like to try the new items. Mostly keto diet to offset the alcohol and crap food I eat

Fatty tip for Taco Bell, use the app. I’m still eating there 2-3 times per month as I have been for 15 years now and you need to use the box combos so you don’t feel completely ripped off. Closest one to me in BR is on College and I regret it every time. The entire experience sucks. AI robot at the menu sounds creepy, any request can prompt it to bug out and have a person jump on, the customizations are never done, you get what they feel like, the wait time

Fuk I need to get out of this BR shithole

I didn’t know this. So live music on Wednesday night also?

Might stop in tomorrow night if so
The Little Village is great. Schiltz is only good for drunk pizza honestly. There is another pizza play across from the library which is much better

Everyone here simply wants to be negative or complain. I actually live there and they don’t visit but post as if they are correct about the area. I’m actual boots on the ground lol, these people are something else.

I moved here last summer and all the workers say June to Aug is slow. The summer heat is insane so I get it plus other vacations/things to do.

All depends on what night but I have never had an issue. The most popular restaurants I would want a reservation Thursday - Saturday night but walking the strip you will be able to find a spot to eat.

My drive to work is 10 minutes from downtown with no traffic. If drinking 1-3 times a week makes me the town drunk then so be it. Thanks for your input.

The Watermark also has a great happy hour and food. Not trashy enough for me but a nice and clean spot to hang out. Always people in there when I pass by fogging up the window

Ohares or Pete’s. I don’t require a crowd to drink though.

Monday dead
Tuesday running club drinks at Ohares. Dead after 9
Wednesday dead
Thursday starts to pick up
Friday and Saturday are decent crowds
Sunday decent crowd at Ohares

Summer is always brutal crowd wise from what all the bartenders say along with my experience here last summer.
I always recommend them, my favorite downtown. I enjoy Little Village as well, Mathernes plate lunches are good too. I normally stop there every Wednesday for 5 dollar sushi rolls

Both are fine. I prefer Ohares with the large outdoor courtyard but also go to Happys with friends. I like Squeaky Pete’s the most, shameless plug for 4 dollar drafts Tuesday and Thursday. Great happy hour and food.

The Bengal Taproom has a new menu and management but I have not been in months so I can’t give an accurate review.

Absolutely false. Once again having to defend downtown from low effort posting here from people who do not even visit.

I live downtown, go out drinking/eating 1-4 times per week. Went out last night, there was live music at Ohares as there is every Friday and Saturday. During the day it’s hot af and every business owner will tell you summer is slow until football season starts back up.

Perfectly safe and clean. There are a few harmless homeless people which is annoying but that’s every city. They won’t bother you.

Yes we could use more funding and new venues but overall it’s fine for what it is. For me less than 10 minutes from work and walkable.
My building is concrete. I don’t even know 1 of the neighbors on my floor. Not sure if anyone even lives in the units
Only myself. I shower 2 times a day most of the time, long hot showers to sweat it out. No dishwasher use even though I have one.

I enjoy it actually with my work schedule. I don’t have the time or want to do yard work or house maintenance. I’m 8 minutes away from work also so less than 8k miles a year on my car. Honestly the numbers work for me with how rates are right now.
Reading these replies are crazy. My monthly cost for electric and gas is between 40-55 dollars per month with the AC kept at 67 mostly, I had 25 dollar bills last winter . Glad to be in my apartment for now. Water runs between 30-50 a month.
You are wrong. Please message me if you wish to visit and I’ll show you a good time
B&Ts closed last summer. The asking price is insane for the building. Plenty of options though, Ohares does live music Friday and Saturday night. Happys reopened a few months ago with other spots along third. Weekends have drawn nice crowds even with the heat of summer
Interesting take. Most of the people I see downtown are white ? There are great happy hour deals to be had especially during week days but to see this is little Haiti is disingenuous. Along with a majority of residents who live down here.

The fear is overblown. Perfectly safe. Nice bars/restaurants. Definitely not as cool as Chilis in Denham but everyone has there thing

We could all do a meet up if everyone is so afraid. Catch me at Ohares or Pete’s grabbing a beer
Yes absolutely absurd. There are 5-10 regular homeless who I recognize, they will not bother you. If they do happen to ask for a dollar, you can ignore them or say no and they move on right away. Never had a problem with them but I also don’t think it should be allowed personally. Shelters or bus tickets.
