He’s not Javier Milei.
He’s like the British Conservatives who lost to a Marxist.

Sounds like he plans to Make Canada Great Again. Good for him. Always look out for your own first. We'll do the same.

For comparison, he’s probably slightly to the left of Mitt Romney. In Canada, that’s a hard right conservative.

There aren't many like him. Unfortunately.

He’s got to win the most seats in Parliament first.
He needs to be bashing his opponents for not knowing what to do, for using Trump’s own rhetoric, and creating a crisis while selling himself as the one who can deal with Trump.
But he’s afraid and doesn’t know what to do. The moment is too big for him. He’s not a leader.
For a long time, he did nothing. He said nothing. Then he finally moved and just joined in with the opposition.

The Canadian govt joined the TDS resistance; they continue to 'trade' along the same lines.

What did y'all expect? Trump trashes Canadians, calls their President a Governor, and endlessly skewers them. Then he starts the tariff policy.
Believe it or not, Canadians have some pride. Not much, but some. Heaven knows you Southerners get mad as hell if a yankee or Hollywood trashes the South. Well, you think Canadians are any different? IF he doesn't take up for them and side with Trump, he's toast.

Nothing Pierre said was wrong, he should be defending Canada.
Trump has said he would prefer to deal with the liberals because Pierre wasn't nice enough to him. So here we are.
The Conservatives losing has nothing to do with them "badmouthing Trump" because the Liberals are badmouthing Trump significantly more.

I didn’t expect it but I hoped he would be smarter. I’ll say it again…

He’s very wrong.
Canada needs the US massively more than the US needs Canada.
He should be bashing his opposition and selling himself as a deal maker that can handle Trump, not doing nothing for a long time then picking up a pom pom and standing behind his opponents and cheering on their anti Trump rhetoric.
He’s not helping himself.

Everyone in canada is a shade of democrat. The so called Conservative Provinces would have gone to a Democrat in overhwhelming numbers in all of the past few Presidential elections.
You just have to hope for the less liberal party wins and the Overton Window their shifts incrementally as a result

I don't necessarily disagree, I'm just trying to present Canada's side of the situation, politically and PR wise.
