What he means is that, as a rule, we prefer to sign human players and not dogs that can't understand coverage schemes, speak words, or lack opposable thumbs.

But he gave an example when talking saying they had a defender put his hand up (he kind of did that shrug when he said it, like this ) and said that was a poodle.
