Without the laugh tracks, was this show really good? I find the laugh tracks annoying and too suggestive of what we're supposed to laugh at.

My favorite Kids in the Hall song:

It had its moments but was pretty corny from what I remember even as a teenager.

I'm crushing your skull

Flying Pig...

it's not weird, it's just pre
commie-tard Canadian humor.

A different time for a different people.

I think people either liked it or didn't like it. I really enjoyed it while my brother never got it.

I guess it depends on what type of humor you like. Canadian humor isn't for everyone.

I liked it. It was hit and miss like all skit shows but the good outweighed the bad.

This one always gets me.

My wife loves it. We rewatched the first episode recently.

It was more hit or miss for me. Some skits had me laughing, others just meh.

I don't remember a lot about it, but I think overall the show wasn't that good. But that being said, there were some funny parts though.

One of my favorite things from it was The Daves I Know:

I always thought The State was funnier, but that's not saying much.

The main thing I remember from The State was the "I wanna dip my baaaaaaaaaalls in it" skit. I used to think that was hilarious. I suspect if I watched it now I wouldn't find it as funny anymore.

Like all sketch comedy it could be extremely hit or miss. It has a unique, quirky tone and was way more hit than miss.

I don't remember seeing Love and Sausages before. Or maybe I did but didn't get it at the time as a David Lynch homage.

It did have one of the best opening theme songs in the 90's in my opinion.
But Like others have said, the humor was very hit and miss.

opening theme

However, I always thought one of the relatable sketches to American and Canadian humor was this one...
