Anyone have a good plan for attending the Masters on a Wednesday. Want to walk the course, hit the merch shop, and catch the Par 3. But need a plan to do it all efficiently.

Merch shop 1st, right at rope drop. Any day you go, always merch shop first thing.

Merch shop first. Have a plan with whoever you're going with to meet at a specified time somewhere afterward, because you will get separated.
Walk the course starting with the back 9. Bring a camera and a backup battery.
Haven't done the par 3 contest, so I can't comment on that.

Like the others said, merch first then ship it home so you don't have to carry it all day or try to pack it for a flight(if you are flying in). When I went in 2018, you went right next door to the merch center to ship it. Very easy and it was at my house on Saturday. If you are buying for friends, make sure you have your list written down somewhere since you won't have your phone.
You can also bring a camera to the practice round so be sure you have one.
Also be sure to go take a pic at the Founder's Circle in front of the clubhouse at the planted Master's logo.

did wednesday last year
merch shop wasnt open when they opened the gates, so had to come back later. I bought a booksack so i just put everything i bought in it and carried it on my back. Not really an inconvenience at all. The merch lines go pretty damn fast. it looks like it would take 2 hours but we waited for like 20 minutes
We just walked the course from hole 1 through hole 18. I would reverse that and start on the back- lots of people head to amen corner/16 and it gets packed over there once people actually get in the gates. Front 9 was wide open first thing and then pretty much stayed that way except for holes some of the more popular guys were on
Watching the par 3 kind of sucks IMO. There are some cool spots to go sit and see them hit shots, but didnt really find sitting in one place to watch was really worth it. I walked around the whole par 3 course just to see everything and say i did it, but the main course is dead during the par 3, so i just walked it again without people in the way
Bring a camera- phones are not allowed during practice rounds

Pro Tip- Hit the gate and walk to the back of 16 green and hit the merch shop there. Just as big as the one by the main gate and 1/3 the people.

Get to gate at 6:30 gates open at 7:30...Weather is going to be great on Wednesday high of 75 is forecasted... so bypass the merch shopping as they constantly restock the shelves..go take picture at founder Circle from there walk the course starting at 10 and head down to stands at 11/green-12/tee check out 14 green on way down to 11/12...walk to 13 green..cut across 15 fairway look to left that a great view of 15 green and 16 pond...go to 16 green and then to 6 green then head toward hole four...get beer/food/pee at concession area on way to 4 go toward 3 green ..on way from 4 green to 4 tee look for the lone palm tree on course 358 variety of trees but only one palm...walk toward 2 green from 2 green walk to 7 green and then over to 17 green and then walk up 18 and see 18 green and 9 green....then someone needs to go get more beer in concession and you go pee then sit and oberseve the beauty amongst the Augusta Pines...should be about 12:30-1 then walk over to par 3 and TRY to get a view of one of the greens sit and watch some action till about 3:30 then head towards the putting green watch players do putting routines...then go to big scoreboard heading to proshop....turn left at scoreboard and take in a panoramic view of the course and THANK GOD FOR THIS SPECIAL DAY and ask him to bless you with another lottery win soon! Now to the fun part...the merchandise shop. Take your time shop wisely as you could exceed the limit on your VISA card really easy...beautiful stuff for sure. Then ship if you buy heavy stuff or carry out and head to practice range on way out...about 6 start heading to car....when on washington rd stop in at Hooters and say hello to John Daly and da girls...then head to hotel or Atlanta drive safely as ur tired by this time and will be looking to a place to sleep after a long day ... this day will truely be one of the most enjoyable days of your life....right behind birth of your kids and marriage ...Enjoy! I've done this 25 times...so I speak from lots of experience!

Last year was my first trip. Merch shop first for sure. When in the main shop, there are like three walls full of shirts . . . The better quality shirts are in the back section as well as some of the higher-end merch.
Also, I wish I had known that most of the traditional souvenirs for others (flag, ball markers, divot repair sets, etc…) are near the check-out counters past the rope where you cannot return to the store. I wasted time doubling back and looking for those items only to find half my list at the check out

We did Wednesday in 2018. Great experience! Go to merchandise shop first, buy you a chair and set it up between 8 and 9 on the par 3, then go walk the course. When the Par 3 starts go get in your chair, no one will mess with it. Be sure to put your name on the back of it. Definitely carry a camera, no phones!

Do they pat you down for a phone? Seems like it would be pretty easy to get a phone in otherwise.

I’d just follow the rules.
No phone.

You go through a metal detector

They offer storage while you are on the grounds.
In general, no cell phones is one of the best parts of the experience.

If you sneak one in and they catch you say good bye to your badge and if you bought it from someone they get the ban hammer as well.
Leave it in the car, you can make out bound calls from the phone banks and it shows up at your office as calling from Augusta National.

The year I went we focused on the course and went to the par 3 late and had to just get in where we fit in. People set up shop there early

First priority, get there around. Walk straight to merchandise shop. The rest, up to you.
You will thank me (& all others saying the same thing)
