Am I the only one that cringes a little every time BK posts this for a new recruit? It's like something thought up by a marketing intern in Los Angeles. Does anybody from Louisiana ever refer to it as "the boot"? And even if we did, why would somebody want to take a path to a boot? Just a weird choice. Also, using "the" twice in the sentence is awkward. Yeah, I know it's meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but it bugs me.

How about “The retardedness of the Poster?” It still has “the” twice but I think it’s catchy

I've never liked that trophy. Also, it includes Arkansas as part of "the boot". By endorsing that stupid trophy you're basically saying "the boot" is not even specific to Louisiana which makes BK's catch phrase even worse. Can Sam Pittman start posting it too?

Wow. 10 downvotes already. Did not now "The Path to the Boot" was so popular. I stand corrected, guess it's just me.

You’re going to get hammered but I think our marketing team is super cringe and they suck at what they do. We’re killing it on the trail because we have good recruiters and the NIL is there right now, not because of the goofy social media team and weird catchphrases. They need to fire whoever’s in charge of marketing across the board

Everything that carpet bagger does is cringe. He doesn’t fit in here whatsoever and tries way too hard.

Seems like you genuinely don’t know, I’ll explain. “Boot” is something stemming from 7on7 culture when Louisiana kids started traveling to national tournaments. They begin to realize they were among the most athletic and talented in the entire country. It was true for the whole team and other teams from Louisiana.

A slang developed both with the in-state kids and other teams referring to the traveling Louisiana kids as “boys from the boot”. We showed up with unique dances others had never seen and we were crushing teams from other states.

It became a thing and LSU begging using the slang. It will give way soon to whatever is the next cool term. Boot is actually an old slang that Kelly brought back.

Oh it's not just NOW... and I think it started being unpopular after the WW firing because wasn't he one of the first coaches to use that phrase?
