AC Shadows Gameplay Discussion

Got my copy yesterday and have sunk 2 hours in already.
So far:
The graphics are awesome. The fluidity of the characters as they run/move/change direction is so much better than previous games. You don't feel like there are pre-determined "paths" when you're trying to maneuver through out tighter spaces and climbing points on buildings.
The combat is so much better too, it's faster and less "lag/response time" between individuals trading licks to each other.
I think I'm still kind of in the "prologue" phase of the game because I haven't gotten back to Yasuke yet.
The dialogue is a little meh, cringey at times, but it's still in AC fashion... a lot of their cut scenes are cringey over all the games.
I like the upgrades they made to this game.
I'm having a really fun time playing it so far. It's beautiful, fun and a nice change of pace (literally, you're fast af).
I don't let outside influences/rage bait reviews dictate how I perceive games. Play it for yourself and enjoy it. Worth the money so far...
ETA: For the record, I'm not pushing woke bullshite. AC has always been "woke" if that's what you measure that term to mean.
I implore you to separate the 2, and that's what we all do as gamers, separate real life from the fake.
Take this game at the surface, without your political affiliations/beliefs

Yeah, the game is very mid. Looks good though. Otherwise, basically the same formula, except now you're basically forced to be a gay black samurai in feudal Japan of all things. Guess they didn't have more things to work on. Gotta get that inclusiveness in the game.

This game is fun, beautiful and ON BRAND with AC franchises.

Back on topic:
Gathering resources seems like a bish.
Upgrading your hideouts is an awesome touch. Felt like the Sims there.
The kiji-kuri(sp?) process is really cool too

Haven’t played but have watched.
VA is terrible. Writing is terrible. But so are most AC games.
I’m not a fan of two characters regardless of their race. I’d just rather have played a shinobi instead of a Samurai as shinobi fits more of the assassin style. The shinobi could have been male or female and could have had option to be gay or whatever and I probably would have bought this game.
Instead I will wait till it comes out on a pass or is deep discounted.
Game is pretty though.

In regards to all the back and forth commentary....thank god I do not follow any video game discourse! ha! I generally just look at release dates and watch an IGN review video. I know...I'm basic! I'll come here and discuss the actual gameplay with others who have played it. Give it time and some of those people might trickle in.

Excited to hear your review once you start playing!
It's fun, has enough engagement to keep the story flowing, with copius amounts of side missions (you have to look for them, something that has changed in this games' franchise history)
