Ewers in the draft

Most mocks have him bottom 2nd/3rd. That will make him 750-900k/year. ND reportedly offered him 5M. WTF is this idiot thinking?

There’s no way they offered him $5M/yr. Not after getting the film on him these past few years. A few million, maybe, but $5M is Bryce Underwood money

That’s not per year.

Kid has to be worth at least as much as Carson Beck.

Renardo Green was the last player taken in last year's 2nd round. He signed a $6.4M contract. Just under $1.5M at signing, and 1st 2 years guaranteed. $795k in yr1, just over $1M in Yr2, $1.33M in Yr3, & $1.6M in Yr4
Luke McCaffrey was the last player taken in last year's 3rd round. He signed a $5.6M contract. Just under $900k at signing, but no guarantees. $795k in yr1, just over $1M in Yr2, $1.26M in Yr3, and $1.5M in Yr4
If you are going to throw shite at the wall, take 2 minutes to do some basic research

Also that no college qb is making $5M/yr (regardless of ND rumors)

Underwood got 15M. Ewers got offered 5M. Confirmed. Hell, they gave Riley Leonard that

The source is from all the mocks, you fricking idiot. Never said I had a source

He’s not questioning the 3rd round projection, but you’re way off on your 750-900k/yr estimate & the 5M/yr from ND.

So Green made 795K his first year. Do you not think these college players get more than is written? Even if you include Greens bonus at signing, Ewers will make double. Nice try. Do more research

You completely whiffed on my actual point but while we’re here, those mocks would be your sources in this case
But I was very obviously not taking about the mock draft part. Because it would be silly to use a mock draft as some sort of actual data point. It’s literally a draft guess for content, it doesn’t mean anything.

Confirmed by what? Your feelings?

No they didn’t. Source?

Ewers would much more likely be making in the $2-$3 million range in college next year, so the money difference isn’t as much as you want it to be.
And from Ewers perspective, he gets to the league one year earlier getting him closer to his second contract where as a middle to bottom tier starter he’d be making $25-$35 million a year and as a backup $10 million a year.
Guys have been going to the league a year early and betting on themselves for years. If you aren’t a first round pick, it’s all about getting to that second contract as early as possible as that’s where your money is made

I'm trying to make sure I understand this. Is this sarcasm or serious?
I would much rather have Ewers for 2025 than Underwood who has never taken a college snap. Ewers was Underwood rated in HS himself

Impressive to be wrong in every post throughout your own thread

That and it is expected that this QB class will be a lot weaker than next year's class. So, if Ewers is expected to be a last 2nd or early 3rd this year; he'd be risking going even later next year to secure an extra $1-2M based on OP's inflated figure.
Found 1 site that had ratings for both the 2025 & 2026 classes. They have Ewers with an 84.0 rating, which is 4th in this class. That same rating would be 8th in 2026, which would see him getting drafted in the 4th-6th round
