Fair tax. Flat tax. National sales tax. External Revenue through tariffs. Whatever but let's stop unevenly distributing the burden.

Under that proposal, a childless couple making $150K is way better off than a professional couple with 4 kids making $200K even when accounting for child tax credits

Its silly to continue to punish successful people who also choose to have families and have never taken a dollar of assistance. It's essentially expanding the welfare class to $150K and below. Want to stop upward mobility? Then make a 6-figure salary untaxable to a certain threshold. Why would an average person ever strive to make more after hitting $150K?

Side note: Under all of the proposed plans someone could make $200K+ tax free. For example the first $150K would be tax free and let's pretend the rest of their income is overtime then that is also tax free meanwhile the salary people get screwed making the same amount of money through salary and bonuses and possibly working just as much.

Trump has lost me on this one.

Love how so many grasp on every single word that is reported. We are not even 2 months into this ride and soooo many sky screamers. This OG wrote the freaking book on business negotiations, let the man cook and sit back and enjoy. pull your panties out of your butt.

EVERYBODY should pay taxes, and that includes people making $10K.

Otherwise, everything Washington spends money on is “free” to you.

Yes as I said. External Revenue through tariffs is the best plan proposed so far

Hell, people making under $10K get free money. Not their taxes back but actual free money if they have kids and claim them all.

If it's not my money, why would I care what Washington spends it on?

Not the same.

Then the national retail sales tax is your answer.

Do you honestly think it will stop at $150k, ultimately? Don't be so short-sighted.

The plan is to ditch the entire income tax scheme. The line is currently $150k to get the attention of the common man. Besides, it totally flies in the face of the false narrative the MSM gleefully spreads for the progressives that Trump is "on the side of millionaires and billionaires."

That sounds great, but actually I would prefer if there were maybe a 10% flat income tax. That way everyone would have skin in the game especially the over 50% that pay no income taxes currently.

This is a fair response and point but you know this is going to be a fight and we only have 4 years (2 depending on midterms) and you know the Dems will sue and fight tooth and nail. Trump should just say what he wants, propose it, and let's get the show on the road. Gut it from the start instead of slowly stepping it up as we might have time.

gonna be honest, not feeling great about what they've been doing with tax dollars of the past few decades. Definitely feels like the government could make it without my tax dollars.

Also wouldnt make me less angry if they were wasting rich people's money and not poor people's money

No one in my example is rich but one is punished way more than the other. We currently have that at lower thresholds and you guys bitch about it but suddenly are OK with it when you all fall under the threshold.

We are an open state of 5th generation informational warfare. It beats bloodshed in the street.

For better or worse, these things take time.

How so? 50% of the population pay NO TAXES. "Taxing the rich" is straight out of the Democrat handbook. That's not hyperbole, you can google the phrase and find multiple Democrats stating as such.
