Even if Z wants to trust the EU to fund and supply him they can’t fill the gap immediately.
This could just be him buying time in the hopes that they can fire things back up once the EU munitions can replace the American munitions and support that is being turned off.

“The United States will communicate to Russia that Russian reciprocity is the key to achieving peace,” it added.

ah yes the wonderful western alliance that got chased out of iraq and afghanistan, replaced gaddafi with a failed state locked in civil war and got our ambassador killed, turned it's back on mubarak only to replace him with someone so bad that we turned our back and held our nose while the egyptian military assassinated him. we finally got rid of assad only to replace with a dictator that kills christians.
