Boat Upholstery Material Question

Redoing a small seat on a center console. A family member does upholstery (mostly furniture) and is going to redo the seat. I'm supplying the material. I know the material and stitching needs to be waterproof and the staples stainless (saltwater fishing), but I don't know what material to get for the seats and stitching.
Any suggestions on seat cover material?
Any suggestions on the seat cushion material?
Any suggestions on stitching material?
Besides stainless staples, any other tricks of the trade I need to make sure of? The seats cushion is square and the back cushion is rectangular.

I had your solution.
But this changes everything.

I can't figure out if this is an OT answer or if you are serious.

Sorry. Had a few white cans that day.
Seemed funny at the time.
But seriously, why would the shape have any effect on the material?
But I don’t know the answer to your question, but I’d search on some boating supply websites and read about their options.
Good luck

I honestly have no idea if shape matters with my question, but included it anyway just in case?

I would think your family member could get it? They didn't know? A quick google search for "marine Vinyl" pulled up quite a few options. I think that's all you need? IDK.
But I'd think whoever your family orders their fabric for would also carry marine vinyl.

I want to say you’re supposed to use Monel staples for some reason

I heard that too, but they also mentioned stainless...as a and/or situation.
Would love to know if one is better than the other if anyone can comment.

Monel should be more corrosion resistant.
Plus with “Stainless Steel” you never know if you’re actually getting 316SS/still might rust.

Sailrite catalog will have what you need.

You absolutely want monel staples and not stainless. I worked for a hardware manufacturer many years ago and staples were one of my products. The stainless ones will rust on you.

I re did a seat cushion above a baitwell before. I got cushion from hobby lobby and upholstery from amazon. Cut the cushion to fit. Resurfaced the seat with white upholstery and tbh, i stapled it across bottom and then cut away excess. Screwed it back on and done.

I reupholstered all of the seats in a 22' pontoon boat about 5 years ago.
Never did it before but after a few very high quotes, I figured it couldn't be that difficult. It took me 3 weekends to complete it.
Bought marine vinyl, seat cushion foam and a water barrier roll of material off of Amazon. Used ss staples in my air Nailer and coated the plywood underneath with a water sealant.
Sold the boat in January and a potential buyer that looked at it asked me how much I paid to put new seats in it.
