I have myself and my boys that could stand to help kids other than monetarily. Anywhere in NWLA that has something to get involved in? Anyone that has done it or any advice how to volunteer would be appreciated.

Believe it or not, this place always has nuggets of great information. Just have to dig thru the weeds a bit but it usually works out for me.

Go to your local animal shelter
They always need help walking dogs, bringing them in & out of play yards & giving baths

Sorry

Local high schools have a list of service opportunities they keep for their own students, and will give that to just about anyone that calls

You can also call food and animal shelters in the area, or your local police dept for direction

Plenty of ways to help the less than fortunate, and most are a Google search away

Imagine what kind of world we might live in if we had more people like the OP- willing to jump in and help those in need. You wouldn’t make a very good citizen in that kind of world.

There is a St Jude group in Minden that puts on a 5k and a huge auction in February. It raises over 2 million dollars a year now
