This is what Trump wants every major American city to be like

China looks pretty cool. Everybody looks so happy. Are we sure that the American media and politicians have been telling us the truth about China?

Why don’t you ask some of the people who got walled into their neighborhoods during the Olympics because they were “too gross and too poor” to be seen?
Rewatch the video, too. Look how polluted that city is…

Are these the ghost cities?

Another example of how effective propaganda can be.

The lefties have never said anything about that part of China either. Trump should point that out to Xi.

Be honest, if the ghettos of Baton Rouge were walled in it would make everyone’s lives better

Trump should point that out to Xi.
I expect in such a situation, Xi would look Trump in the eye and say "Mind your own goddamn business. Fix your country before telling me how to fix mine."

Is anyone surprised that it was Florida Man who bought this propaganda?

This is what you get when you don't have unions, environmental laws, slave wages and are willing to bank massive debt to create an urban, superficial ode to capitalism within a communist country. It's gross, if you ask me.

You need to educate yourself on China and how their people are treated.

A lot easier with a homogeneous society bowing down to the CCP.

I've not been to that city. There are undoubtedly cool places in China to visit, but the crowding and pollution in Beijing and Shanghai cannot be overstated.
I work with lots of Chinese scientists. Most will tell you that if you are not well-connected there will be no job or advancement for you in China. All claim that coming to the states creates greater opportunities for professional and social upward mobility. Understanding that, their kids are absolutely kicking American arse in school.
Does Western media unfairly denigrate China? Perhaps, but I am not interested in 1-party rule, a planned economy, extensive censorship, and a government that will jail your arse for a protest.
We were drifting hard in that direction over the last 8-10 years. As much as I think Trump is a flawed individual, his election and re-election was the American voting public saying "frick that". And rightly so in my opinion.

I don’t doubt Chinese cities are cleaner than US cities, but I also believe China is the kind of place to set up showpiece areas. Potemkin villages on a bigger scale.

I think the overall point to be made is that urban planning with social cohesion makes everyone happy.
The growth of suburbia in America is a direct result of the failure of cities to provide basic safety and opportunity.

You need to educate yourself on China and how their people are treated.
Years ago when I was working in Dallas one of my hires was a Chinese woman who was ostensibly working towards a PhD in Geologic Engineering at SMU and when I say Chinese I mean she was from mainland China.
We were close in age and as I got to know her I learned her life story which to me anyway was pretty remarkable.
She came of age during the Cultural Revolution and if you don't know what that was you need to look it up because it is crucial to understanding what she went through.
When she graduated from high school there were no universities because Chairman Mao became upset with the professors and shut them all down, sending the professors off to work alongside the peasants for re-education.
So the young lady went to work in a factory. After a time Mao passed away and the universities finally reopened.
She said one day a truck full of soldiers pulled up to the factory and everyone was ushered outside to hear what the officer had to say.
He said one of you will attend university, you decide.
She was chosen to be that one and once she got there was told what her to study, her major. Some career counseling eh?
It took some time but eventually she managed to obtain a visa for herself and her daughter, she married while in college and continued to work toward that doctorate at SMU.

There's a reason Google Streetview cars have not been allowed on Chinese roads.
