Ankalaev is gonna be a very tough test for Poatan. Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out

Fiziev is a good replacement for Gaethje. I was looking forward to gaethje hooker but this still should be a good fight

Some decent scraps on the rest of the card.

Ever since Pereira stepped foot into the UFC, I have put money on him in every fight. Actually, I was the one telling people to watch this guy before it got cool to be his fan. But this fight, I'm going to have to back Ankalaev.

Very close first fight. Fiziev won R1 and you could make a case for R2. Justin clearly won R3. If I scored it based on rounds, I would give it to Fiziev. If I scored it based on damage, Justin. I remember Fizviev speed was a bit much early in the fight. Then he got eye poked late 2nd or early 3rd. He is in his prime and Justin is coming back from that brutal beating and KO. But Rafael is coming back from an ACL.

I'm rooting for Pereira, but I think Ankalaev has a chance just based on how difficult it must be to stay 'on fire' for as long as Pereira has. I guess Ankalaev has an even longer win streak going and is probably also due for a loss in that sense, but Pereira's been doing it at the highest level, the best contender each time. Insane fight, anything could happen.

Watched this absolute war last night. Unbelievable amount of damage and direct hits landed and taken by both guys. Most regular people / civilians would be knocked out and severely injured by the first hit from either guy. Poirier starts pulling ahead in the 3rd, 4th and 5th. Both guys must have been really hurting after this one.

yeah that fight should go down in the hall of fame when those guys retire. a true war of attrition. one of those fights everyone will remember because of covid with no crowd and the ferocity both guys fought with.

Reporter asked Fiziev if this fight would lead someone to the hospital after. Dude said last time he was in the hospital he waited 4 hours, nothing happens, and he just wanted to go home.

We'll finally get to see how much work Pereira has put into his grappling game. The threat of the takedown is probably going to neutralize a good bit of Pereira's power. This should be Pereira's most dangerous fight in a while.

I'm tempted to say Ankalaev wins. However, I said the same with Stipe v Francis II and Francis had dramatically improved his ground game. So, I don't know how this one goes.

This just feels like the end of a white-hot run. They don't last forever.

Ank is a menace and I think he ends Poatan’s run. Just a terrible match up and probably the only guy that can beat him LHW. I could see Ank holding onto the title for a while too.

I think Pereira's LHW Resume is already deeper than Ankalaev's. We will see if Ankalaev truly thinks he can strike with Pereira. If he commits to grappling and wrestling he has a good chance.

Absolutely true AND this is the only way to satisfy the MMA fans and give them yet another "he was never that good" story to discuss after the dust settles.

If Alex wins this there isn't much left at LHW for him.
Although if Jan Blachowicz beats Carlos Ulberg I wouldn't mind that Jan fight getting ran back.

Yup. Pereira definitely has the power advantage but I’m willing to bet Ank’s got quicker hands.

Ank talking smack at the prefight press conference. Alex looks more tense and serious than usual.

There's low-level chatter about him moving up to HW after this fight, win or lose, for an eventual Jon Jones superfight or Aspinall.
