2024 Academy Awards - if it was people's choice

Just for fun, what would it look like? These are convo starters only.
Imagine if box office receipts and user scores were more important that critics and politics?
Best Picture - Inside Out 2
Best Directory - Shawn Levy, D&W
Best Actor - Ryan Reynolds, D&W
Best Actress - Aul'i Cravalho, Moana 2
Best Animated Feature - Inside Out 2
Best OG Song: Defying Gravity, Wicked
Imagine the viewership and interest in this awards show, if people cared about the films that were nominated? Let the artsy films win artsy categories.

I've only seen one of those movies, so your list is horrible.
This is fun!

Neither Inside Out 2 or Moana 2 were particularly good.

The People's Choice Awards are a thing
Last year, Barbie won movie of the year. Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie won the 2 best actor/actress awards

Who are these people who liked Moana 2? Who liked inside Out 2 more than The Wild Robot? Who would consider a 20 year-old song from a theater musical and original song?

Like giving a Michelin star to McDonalds because they served the most people.

Problem is very few high quality films do big business anymore.
Hollywood no longer knows how to make a prestige film general audiences want to see and general audiences' interest in prestige films has never been lower. Feedback loop.

So the point was to name your list, but apparently you prefer the smell of your own farts.

So what’s your list?

I saw neither of them, the point was to share your list. The list was based off box office and not back room blowjobs and back-patting.

Or, instead of being dense… awarding for each category and not trying to compare fast food to Michelin rated restaurants.
Artsy films that 100,000 people see vs films that make a billion dollars shouldn’t be in the same category.

Nah, more likely to be ranch. Funny how everyone missed the point and prefers the circle jerk of pretending anyone gives a shite about the overwhelming majority of nominees and winners from the Academy Awards this year.
You are the folks that can be served boxed wine and be told it’s a 30 year Chateau Lafitte and insist upon it.

Never seen a stronger argument for not doing this than the OP.

No we got it, it just isn’t a very well thought out or sensible point to try to make
What movies do you refer to as too “artsy” to win best picture that spurred this, out of curiosity?

Moonlight, Nomadland, the Artist, Birdman, and (I'll argue) the Shape of Water.
i liked Parasite, EEAAO, King's Speech, Greenbook, 12 years a slave, Argo, CODA, but those were at least accessible to most people.
