Halfway through the decade, how would you rank the Best Picture winners thus far?

Here they are for those of you who care enough:

2020: Nomadland
2021: CODA
2022: Everything Everywhere All at Once
2023: Oppenheimer
2024: Anora

I might be biased but I feel like they should be ranked as follows:

#1 Oppenheimer
#2 Everything Everywhere All at Once
#3 Anora
#4 CODA
#5 Nomadland

Hard to argue. I may put Anora at #2 because of tits though.

Same. Love Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis, and was really happy for Short Round. But, man, I just couldn’t get through this movie.

Loved CODA. Really enjoyed Oppenheimer. Nomadland was way too depressing to finish. Looking forward to seeing Anora, even if only for titties.

I would rank EEAAO slightly above Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer is better from every movie making aspect, but I don't think I'll ever rewatch it. EEAAO can be rewatched every once in a while.

Haven't seen Anora but people have said it won because it perfectly represented today's Hollywood; a sex film about Nihilism and no likeable characters with any likeable traits.

Is Anora a movie that has roll your eyes liberal motifs or does it stay clear of that?

Considering renting tonight, but not in the mood to just waste money 20-30 mins in.

I know it’s not the popular opinion but I really think one’s enjoyment of Everything Everywhere comes down to its comedy style. I personally am not a fan.

No. The director Sean Baker’s movies are always centered on the absolute fringes of society but also gives an honest and nuanced view of said lifestyle. None of his movies are preachy about any particular message. Also he got some shite because he follows Kyle Rittenhouse and Libs of TikTok on instagram.

I thought Anora was a very likeable character. She's not someone you're bringing home to mama, but I did like that character. The performance of the part was pretty amazing, imo, so that could be the reason.

Never seen Anora yet, but mine are:

Oppenheimer (really the only one I liked)

BIG BIG BIG BIG gap

Everything Everywhere All at Once (not a terrible movie but nothing special)
Coda (Bore)
Nomadland (Bore)

Thanks just realized Sean Baker is there guy that did the Florida project and red rocket.

I watched both of those movies and thought they were well done.
