Is part of being “old money” letting your 14 year dress up preppy and go crush a handle on Saint Charles? Ridiculous shite I’ve seen tonight that I’ve never seen anywhere else. I know “Mobile is lame” but holy shite the trashy is strong out here with these supposedly well to do families.

65 years ago, high school at the time, parents would drive us to the Huey Long bridge, let us out to take a bus to the canal street ferry for Mardi Gras

So nothing has changed since I was in high school 20+ years ago. I can’t remember if it was 6th or 7th street that was the high school spot back then.

And I appreciate that y’all have good memories about it. It’s just jarring to see these preppy looking families handing out booze to their kids who look like they’re Freshmen in public. It’s just a strange and trashy thing to me.
