Transgenderism

How is transgenderism different than believing you’re a spoon or something?
If you imagined that you’re a spoon, can you imagine that the rest of society would cater to you?

I would imagine them eating off of me

How is it different for that white lady that thought she was black but got kicked out of the NAACP for not being black leading to a life of porn.

No, but I’d imagine they’d cater with me.

It's a sexual fetish.
It isn't any deeper than that.

If I went in your office and told you I was Napoleon, you wouldn't give me the Grand Armee and send me to Waterloo

I know this isn't a serious question, but I'll try to answer it seriously...and welcome the downvotes
If gender is the social manifestation of biological sex, then transgender people simply don't feel their biological sex "matches" their gender.
As far as I know, in the natural history of sexual dimorphism, "spoon" has never been recognized as a biological sex.
So that's how transgenderism is different than a male or female human identifying as a spoon.
Pro tip: we can believe that people who push an ideology of transgenderism are misguided, and believe that your spoon analogy is stupid at the same time.

I do not know any trans people. I am a 60 yr old straight white guy. Veteran. My take on this always seems to surprise people - -- but It always blows my mind why one person would give a rats arse about how someone else chooses to live his or her life.
We are all different. Some people are Scientologists. Some people are Flat Earthers. Some people only eat vegetables.
If someone elects to live their life as a different sex - - it is not hurting you. You are not self important enough to have an approval or disapproval of anyone's life but your own and perhaps the children you raise.
As whether someone caters to this, you are absolutely correct- - there is no law that requires you to do so. But simple manners and respect for other people should play a role in that decision.

The word “gender” should not exist in the English language anymore. Historically, gender referred to articles preceding a noun.
English does not have those articles anymore.

You gonna tell that to the girls getting smoked by dudes with wigs in sports?
I agree with your sentiment, but that premise has long jumped the shark. You can't let mentally ill people run the show.

Nobody is advocating for laws against adults doing what they want. But truth is truth.

Sex and gender mean the same thing in common usage. Sometimes people use the word gender so you know they’re not referring to sexual intercourse.
Some feminists about 50 years ago tried to create a sex/gender distinction where sex is biological sex, and gender is basically gender roles. That sex/gender distinction hardly ended up being used outside of feminist circles. And although I don’t care for feminism, trans people use that distinction differently than how feminists 50 years ago really intended that distinction to be used. Feminists were using the sex-gender distinction to basically argue that women were restrained by stereotypes, not that women can have a penis or that men can have a vagina.
