Sound like they’re sticking with Carr per Underhill

For what it’s worth.

Sounds like the same old drivel from Loomis but if Moore is good with it let’s see what he can do for a year.

What else do you expect them to do? It's not as if there are a ton of options

might as well keep him but I wouldn't do anything that makes it hard to move on after this season

Well he's gotten himself hurt both seasons. He's been here already.

And if it's like you say the Saints only win seven or eight games or fewer. They should just take their pill at the end of next season with him.

Carr maybe could succeed if he had more talent around him, but as we all know the Saints aren't exactly flush with talent right now so I don't really know what the holdup is.

All that can kicking has gotten us to this point I suppose.

This is what I would do.
Carr gets a lot of criticism on here, but I haven't heard anyone come up with a realistic better idea for next year.

It was always a long shot to move away from him in 2025. I think he's a decent enough QB when healthy but health has failed him in the two seasons he's been in new Orleans.

The only real knock I have on him is he does not appear to display the kind of leadership I would expect from a QB or the kind this team needs from the QB position. I'm sure personally he's the good guy everyone talks about but I really don't see or hear players around him taking him up in the leadership department.

Yeah, I agree with that.

Probably gets too much blame as the quarterback can do at times.

But the word that I keep landing on when it comes to him is uninspiring.

Like he just doesn't have enough juice for me

Very good point. And I concur. Uninspiring fits.

If you're trying to clean up the cap, I think restructuring Carr rather than several other older guys is a good move. I'm not in favor of restructuring old guys also.

Because he’s average as hell. He isn’t particularly bright and has never been a winner. He’s in his mid 30s has made hundreds of millions of dollars despite his mediocrity and lack of success.

He's coasting to the finish at this point.

I don’t blame him, I think that’s human nature.

What's your path to cap compliant while moving on from Carr?

Problem is it sounds like they are planning to restructure guys. a lot of them. Most of the same guys are reporting that they Saints are not planning to part ways with many veterans this offseason citing, "leadership" as reasons.

I don't agree with this strategy. Oh well, hopefully we catch lightning in a bottle - nail the draft and stay healthy.

Where did I say to move on from Carr?

My stance has always been to move on from ALL of these old frickers (cam, taysom, Matthieu, Carr, Demario, etc) with as little can kicking as possible. I don’t care if we go 1-16 in the process if it allows us to turn the page somewhat cleanly.

If we restructure Carr hopefully that means we can get rid of the old guard on defense ASAP without pushing their ridiculous deals into the future.

If we push more than we have to for the sake of “winning” with Carr and keep this charade going that’s when I’m going to have an issue.

Good on Moore. He will be the lastest victim to this gold digging coach killer

Doubtful..

Mores job is not no way tied to Derek Carr. It will however be tied to the QB they draft in 2026.

We don’t need a better “next year” we need a better next 15 years!!! Carr is a waste of time. Start over already!!

Cut Carr, play Rattler, draft high

And get yourself in an eventual situation where if there is a QB available that is worth paying, you can pay him without killing yourself
