Is there another student section in the SEC that is placed any worse than LSU has their student? every other school ive seen put some behind the goal have most along to side lines.

Instead LSU makes students sit in the top section also behind the goal, which has the worst view in the stadium. which equals no excitement for kids going to games.

but at least we get to have Gordon and all LA trial lawyers golf clap with their sideline tickets

It was in a good spot in 08 and then they changed it in either 09 or 10.

I’m hoping with the new arena, they put them in a better spot. Early to mid 2000’s they were on the side opposite of the benches.

Students got moved because no one was going to the games due to no consistency in the basketball program and all the prime spots looking empty on TV.

Students came back under Wade after 4 straight NCAA appearances.

Now, they are all gone again and it will take another Will Wade type run of consistency to get them back.

They moved it for the 2010-2011 season. It was on the side for the 2008-2009 season when LSU won the SEC and the 2009-2010 season when Taz was a Senior and LSU was bad.

They claimed they moved it because the students asked to be moved behind the goals. More bullshite from LSU like when they said the people in left field at the old box asked for those shitty old left field bleachers to be moved to the new box. They moved the students due to a lack of support… well the team sucked arse. The student section was packed in 2009 when LSU won the SEC.

LSU’s lies all come down to money. Save money by moving the shitty old left field bleachers from the old box to the new box. Make money by selling the seats along the court.

They don’t even fill the lower section behind the goal, why complain about the putting them in upper section also?

That said, there is no bad seat in the PMAC. If the team is good and the game is good, the whole crowd, even in the top rows, can enjoy the game and atmosphere.

Agreed, the student section is in the perfect place. I go to almost every home game and sit next to them behind the visiting team. The few students that do come and care about basketball are able to interact with the visiting team. Some of them are really good at it and definitely get into their heads. A few years ago the students would have to be protected by security to keep the opposing team from coming after them. If we can't put a good product on the court, at least that is fun to watch.

Alabama: worse (in the corner)
Arkansas: worse (in the corner)
Auburn: better (courtside)
Florida: better (courtside + upper deck)
Georgia: wash (some sideline but mostly corner. And you have to watch UGA basketball)
Kentucky: same as LSU
Miss St.: similar to LSU, but more corner than baseline
Missouri: same as LSU
OU: same as LSU
Ole Miss: better (middle + behind goal, all lower)
South Carolina: worse (in the corner)
Tennessee: way worse (small baseline strips + upper corners)
Texas: better (similar to Ole Miss)
Texas A&M: similar to LSU, only both baselines
Vandy: better (all sideline)

Crunching the numbers, only 5 SEC schools have unequivocally better placed student sections.

Um, the student section was moved because there were very few students attending the games. I don't blame that decision one bit.

Today's students don't support LSU athletics like they should; they leave LSU football games at or before halftime and they don't show up for basketball games.

I'm so tired of student complaints. They are too interested in partying and drinking. Their entitlement syndrome speaks volumes.

Even last night, quite a fewf students showed up to get the free jerseys and I saw a bunch of them leaving the game before the tip-off. Pathetic support!

I read over and over on here students complaining about the "gray hairs" just sitting and not cheering. At least they show up!

I went to every game as a student and I go to almost every game now.

Students are only supportive when the team is winning consistently.

It was on the opposite side from the benches all the way to the top when I was in school from 81-85... we used to have to stand in line for over 2 hours to get in sometimes. Student section was pretty rowdy as Dale Brown had to get on the PA to stop students from throwing stuff onto the court a few times.

Students stood in line for two hours last nighy. There were more students at the game than paying ticketholders. The students don’t like sitting right behind the goal because the goal massively obstructs their view of half of the court, so they just sit wherever they want instead.

Gordan should be able to sit wherever he wants.

They need to prove they’re worthy of having a prime seating location if that’s what they want. Students need to start showing up. It’s all about demand people.

Alleva moved the students in an attempt to get more money from ticket sales. When the decision was made the student section was packed for every game. Even the last season when the administration literally took the seats out of their section and they had to stand the whole game
