Government workers circumventing competition by claiming disability.

It’s a tactic they use incredibly often. They’re coached to go get an ADHD diagnosis, or hell…diabetes works probably. Should look at #s on who got direct hired this way. I bet it’s ridiculous.

FedGov is one of a few places that puts an emphasis on those hires, Veteran's preference, etc. I assure you, our govt and especially our military screws more people out of disability / compensation than is out there with fraud. For decades they submitted absolutely dogshit briefs to deny Veteran claims of Agent Orange poisoning and more.
If only you fine patriots would get this angry at Congress, maybe it wouldn't be filled with Lindsey Graham's and Nancy Pelosi's. You guys are cheering for the ruination of regular people yet you can't put your foot down and withhold your vote from the real criminals that are in Congress.

A colleague of mine filed disability, as he was exposed to burn pits during his 2 Afghanistan tours, and is still waiting on the VA process. He's going on year 3 since submitting his claim.

Yeah...I know of more than one case that says otherwise. There is plenty of abuse and fraud on both sides of that.

30% of gov workers are veterans. Largest employer of veterans. Many of the people conducting a circle jerk on this board about the Elon email and demonizing federal workers should reasses their opinions. Republican party shitting on veterans is a real shame and massive change of party philosophy.

But isn't their disability their strength? Or something? This kinda goes against the idea hiring those with disabilities doesn't it? If they can't perform the simple task of responding to an email about what they even do in their job?

Hey, I didn't vote for Kennedy in the last election.
Maybe not spend so much on DoD, send that money back to the States, bolster pay for the National Guard, recruit better people, and have the resources and personnel to handle defense and disaster recovery in their home State.
This would maybe deter young men and women from signing up to go to BFE to fight some villager in their homeland and instead get paid and educated to protect and support their communities.
I also believe any veteran that suffers a disability while serving abroad should never have to work full time to support their families.

So anyone that claims to hire over 30% veterans gets a complete pass? If we fire 10% of federal employees that’s a 3% loss of veterans, I’m sorry I’m not crying a river over that.
There’s plenty of veterans that are great at wasting government money also. That has nothing to do with their service.

Veterans are the best part of the gov work force. They’re the only ones with the balls to actually assess risks and accept some uncertainty. Went forever under folks who wouldn’t sign any requirements waivers…which is just ridiculous in our line of work.

Obama made the rules where saying that you had a disability is pretty much all that was required to be considered disabled by any HR department that wasn't ready to get sued back to the stone age.
