Give me either of the two.

Seeing what JJ is doing with the Lakers, I really think these two generals will make excellent coaches.

Hell, Rondo already coached us to a first round sweep of the Trailblazers !

I do agree that either will probably be a good coach. But we are not a team that needs to be testing new coaches. We need to do the exact opposite.

Idk what JJ and these two have in common, but I would bet on CP3’s basketball IQ and stature over Rondo.

You think we're gonna pay for a big head coach with where our franchise is at?

You think hiring a coach that has never coached is effective on a lottery team?

The question of what I "think" we will do doesn't matter, that is what we "need".

I "think" we will probably frick it up until we have a winning mentality or a better overall FO/ owner

B/c hiring Alvin Gentry, or Doc Rivers is the way to go.

These teams testing new coaches:
Celtics - Mazulla, and before that Udoka, who's still doing great in Houston
Warriors - Kerr
Lakers - Redick
Grizzlies - Jenkins
Heat - Spoelstra
TWolves - Finch
OKC - Daigneault
Magic - Mosley

You can find successful coaches that have never been head coaches, before, and you can also find retreads who can be successful as well. Finding the right coach to fit the right team personnel is what's important, and that requires a good GM above anything else, and we're bottom 5 in the league when it comes to the GM.

We're a lottery team due to unprecedented injury. A big name coach isn't going to frick with this team. We need to hope there's a young up and coming coach that can get through to Zion or man a rebuild if we trade his arse.

We absolutely will if the next hire cannot get through to Zion.

You are ignoring the major issue of our players being "uncoachable". You don't take a team full of players that wont listen to a mediocre experienced coach and expect them to suddenly buy in to a new coach that hasnt earned any respect.

The "success" of new coaches is greatly contributed to the willingness of the players. An example would be Steve Nash/ Jason Kidd that know the game very well but the players didn't give a frick to listen to them.

While I agree with CP3 may have a higher BBIQ than Rondo, CP# has not always gotten along with fellow players. Rondo on the other hand did not get along with coaches, however, players from every team he played on raves about him as a teammate and his ability to make everyone play better.
CP#'s IQ has made him one of the best pg of all time. Rondo's ability to connect with players may serve better as a coach.

I think CP3 still wants to play for a couple more years. I guess I wouldn’t be opposed to a Jackie Moon situation though. Maybe we could have him play at the vet minimum while paying him extra as a coach or something

First of all, Rondo is the better player than CP3. Which leads me to believe he would also be a better coach.

Stats would tell you that you're wrong. Not me saying it but the actual stats. If your bias is because of championships then yes continue to ignore these stats and base your opinion solely off Paul Pierce and KG being on the team with him.

CP3/ Rondo/ Deron Williams were all on another level at that time. You could make the exact same argument for Williams that you can for Rondo/ CP3 if you ignore career longevity.

It really isn't something that needs to be argued, both are extremely high IQ players and would probably do well as coaches.

CP3 would probably butt heads with players more in general and Rondo would butt heads with players that don't do what he says or fricks up often. I'd probably give Rondo the slight edge knowing that but you probably couldn't go wrong with either if actually giving them a chance long term.

These aren't comparable because like I said above the players made these coaches.
Kerr- splash bro's
Heat- Big 3/ Lebron
Lakers- Lebron
T Wolves- 3 7' and an all star facilitator
OKC- SGA/ a trillion good draft picks/ players that grind

Yeah I'm sure if we had Steph/ SGA/ Lebron for 80 games a year we wouldn't be talking about how much we need a new coach....

You are talking about coaching success based on players who outplay everyone else. Our players proved that they won't do that on their own so this whole argument is null & void.

I'm fairly certain the league banned player-coaches.

I’m starting to think you’re just simply a troll. This comment can’t be serious.

Rondo was the only reason the Lakers pulled off the bubble chip. He was amazing everywhere he went, and he’s a true leader unlike bitch arse CP3. I’m still half convinced that Pels team with Rondo, Jrue, AD, and Boogie takes the Warriors down with 2 full Boogie Achilles. Dirty mfer CP3 elbowed Jose in the face in the playoffs and gets away with it, I’m happy that bitch will retire without a ring.

I love Rondo and his basketball IQ was off the charts. But he simply wasn’t as good as Chris Paul.
