Actually in Mardi Gras terms it is not a headpiece it is collar.

No one was hurt.

But it was a long parade last night HTV started their Livestream as it got downtown around 10 and did not go off until after midnight. At the about the 22 minute Mark, HTV talks with one of the members of the float.

That’s some kind of nightmare scenario playing out in real life.

I wonder what set it off? Did some baw in the crowd flick his cigarette butt at the king?

Somebody thought having a pyrotechnic display was a good idea on a paper mache float with flammable plastic feathers on a collar right in front of the pyrotechnics.

You can see the sparks on the very first frame or other angles of the fire.

Sometimes you just have to appreciate the work that went into some floats. One of them was even outfitted with cameras and TVs. Another had an elaborate led display.

Hercules is usually pretty innovative on float design,

I thought X Rated was crazy for those tvs. People will throw shite to break them. I need to find out if that happened or not

Seriously, with all the flammable shite on floats, I am surprised this doesn't happen more often

We were at the start of it. They had the sparklers shooting and he did turn the feathers into them and the wife and i both looked at each other and said he is going to catch on fire. It did not at that time but did farther down. It was a good parade and very family friendly.

As someone who road in Hercules for a 5 year stretch, I can attest this is 100% accurate.

I can also attest that, it was way more fun than a human being should be allowed to have.

They had porn streaming on it? There's a ton of kids at those parades, I hope you're joking.

Only if someone flashes the cameras as it passes by.

I wonder if a float member makes a special reel for the other members if they record the video for a special spank bank of material.

But I guess it could also be a liability if a 17 year old or younger flashes the cameras as now you have child p0rn or if you could get slammed with the release of a private image law for someone over 18, but I wonder how the court would handle that since you were in a public street flashing the goods.

Not sure why, but I laughed when he threw it over the side.

When your hat catches fire, you can get it off pretty quickly.

From what I am hearing, they tested “cold” pyrotechnics- sparks shooting out of canisters that are cold & non-flammable.

An error may have been made and regular pyrotechnics were ordered in which the sparks were hot and caught the headdress feathers on fire.
