Smart move. IU basketball is equivalent to Nebraska football.

That’s just ridiculous. Building a basketball roster is 10x easier than football. If that weren’t the case how do you think Kansas dominates like they have historically?

May would have been a fool to leave Michigan.

Are they not both once dominant teams that are no where near what they were? Has either done much in this century?

They should have hired him last year when they had the chance.

Michigan was in the finals in 2018.

Kansas won a national title just a few years ago and won the big 12 for like 15 straight years. These are not the same comparisons
literally just similar geographics but Kansas buying 5-8 players across the country is way easier than Nebraska building a football roster.

Why? Indiana has deep pockets, a lot of in state talent, and is a basketball-first school.

All I know is Danny Wolf just had one hell of a sequence in the Michigan/MSU game.

My brain read Dusty Baker and I was super confused why he was coaching college baseball at Michigan of all places.
Carry on.
Carry on.

I think this belongs on a Michigan board.

As deep as you think Indiana's pockets are, Michigan's are much deeper.
They probably gave him a huge reside and promise of elite NIL, which they cab afford.
Chris Beard will absolutely kill it at Indiana. He'll have them in the Elite 8 in 2 yrs.

That’s cool. I was comparing Nebraska football and Indiana basketball though.

I’m comparing Indiana basketball to Nebraska football and you keep bringing in Kansas basketball. It’s the same comparison. Once proud programs that have fallen on hard times. I’m not saying they can’t or won’t be great again.

The point is that Nebraska sucks because convincing enough kids in major metropolitan areas to move to Lincoln is so much more difficult than Indiana basketball returning to prominence…hence, look at Kansas
Nebraska football is an incredibly difficult job. Indiana just needs to make a good hire

All good.
The post you replied to had no mention of that.
ETA: I also just saw the post you were replying to (yours) did. Apologies.

But Kansas has been a continuously strong contender. They haven’t fallen off the map like Indiana. I feel like you’re arguing just to have something to argue about

Disagree. I don’t think Nebraska football can compete for a natty. If Indiana hires the right coach, I don’t see why they couldn’t compete for a title.
