Serious question. I know some top football recruits have opted out of high school ball (Quinn Ewers) to start collecting NIL.

Since travel ball isn’t associated with public school competition, could high end travel ball players begin collecting NIL money prior to college? This may up the travel ball parental commitment game/competition if so.

Was chatting in the gym this morning with a travel ball coach and we were thinking about it. It may ban him from high school competition, but does that really matter anymore?

You can pay anyone anything you want for their Name image and likeness. It doesn’t have to be an athlete. It could be your gardener if you want. It’s a free market.

I don’t know about nil but travel baseball kids are getting paid to show up to tournaments and to play with certain teams. Kinda like contract work.

Is there a travel ball team that you follow that you really want to see win?

Are you saying drop out of HS to play only travel ball? Legally they’ll have to get their GED, and if they’re not MLB locks, that hurts chances of academically qualifying for college.

In a lot of states, they can collect NIL and still be in HS and play. That’s what the evangel QB has already in place.

Of course they could. I'm Billjaminaxxon's manager and agent. Hoping to close a deal with Johnny's pizza if he can keep his BA above .400 for the 3rd spring season.

Incorrect. High School players aren’t allowed to collect money like college players hence the opting out pandemic.

I've been in tournaments (in Alabama) where a team paid travel, hotels, etc. to fly in a pitcher from Texas for a weekend.

Yes they can and do. It’s legal in Texas and Louisiana for sure.

It’s been legal since 2022

That a team costs. Different than handing over money or contracting a player.

Big time players, mostly pitchers, get recruites and have all their fees waived as well.

Maybe not NIL but still ridiculous for 10u softball
