Unfortunate that the teams won’t both be full strength. US team is dealing with a bunch of injuries.

Should of rested guys vs sweden, or had 4th line and 3rd line eat minutes.

If USA can stay out of the box and continue playing physical, they can win. they keep taking stupid penalties, mcdavid and company will put game away.

tkachuks must have a big game

All pressure will be on the Canadians. The arena will be rocking and will hype the boys up. If Matthews can play D like he did Saturday and team USA continues to be physical, it’ll be very tough for Canada to score.

We haven’t even seen Hellebuyck‘s A game yet this tournament.

They should play our national anthem twice: once for The Greatest Country in the World and twice for the 51st State.

Seriously, this, like the Miracle on Ice, "is more than a Hockey game". - Mike Eruzione

I'm telling you, this means something real unlike NBA festivities. Players care...see fights in the first minute. Unlike NBA stripper party weekend, people will tune in. This is the first sporting event in a long time that is must-see TV.

Hopefully this isn’t another 1/09/12 situation for the good guys

I've said it before, rematches always go the other way...just like in CFB.....we saw it again this year with Ohio State-Oregon.

This format is ridiculous. USA just beat Canada but has to beat them twice in a span of a few days to so call win it, while Canada just has to beat us once. How is that fair? If Canada wins, there should be a rubber-match to declare the Champion.

The Gold Medal game in 2010 was a great game but ended up going the wrong way. But the US had to fight the Canadian crowd. We beat the shite out of them in the group stage game. Home crowd will make a difference.

Canada losing will awake the populace to a different political view and be once again aligned with us.

Canada winning will keep them thinking what they're doing to their Country is A-Okay!

Who exactly were they supposed to replace these “resting” players with? Rosters are only 20 skaters deep. Are you under the assumption we have an AHL affiliate ready to rotate the roster as if it’s late regular season?

13 forwards is 4 lines and an extra
7 defensemen is 3 pairings and an extra

We held our best player out and spread minutes out as well as we could with only 11 forwards. There’s also the reality that coming in these guys had a total of 2 games of experience playing with each other. This isn’t Game 82, it’s a mistake to squander TOI

Dunno what you feel we could’ve actually done differently

Have a bad feeling we're gonna lose badly tonight with all the injuries and the curse of the rematch in sports. Hope its not 2011 bad.

Never knew so many Canucks posted on TD with all the downvotes.

It was a valiant effort that ended in Defeat. Even so, the US players covered themselves in Glory.
