Is the Trump administration really firing park rangers and national park employees?

I am all for gutting useless programs but these folk are rare exceptions.

Is there something I am missing? I have friends in the PNW talking about knowing good outdoorsmen who are stewards of the land being shitcanned.

There are just so many more programs to abolish or cut besides this department. Is there some rationale?

Yes, it affects roughly 100 local employees. People are enraged.

Unfortunately, the cuts here seem to be a lot of field staff and not enough Bureaucracy.

I have a friend in Alaska who had friends in the forest service that did good work.

As a Robert Kennedy fan who values how sacred our environment is this is just silly to cut a midst the countless actual fraudulent departments in the federal government

Good thing I don’t live in either of these states.

I;ve seen list of the local positions cut, and the rationale is baffling. Seems like a hatchet job.

Yep. Forest and park Rangers, and a good number of them are vets.

Not exactly the pink pussy hat wearing liberal DEI deep state bureaucrats they said they were going for.

Why is Trump putting hairy, overweight gay men in charge of our national parks?

Probationary period employees. 1000 from National Parks. More from Forest Service.

Search results.

This is the one area I strongly disagree with Trump on. Federal lands and the management of them (for hunting opportunity) is a top 5 issue for me.
