I think he was a homerun hire. He can recruit his arse off at place that cares about baseball more than any sport other than football.

With NIL and the portal and what the baseball program already is, he may end up with more titles than Bertman.

Nothing against Skip, but I’d say it’s more difficult to win now than Skip’s tenure. Same as it was probably easier when Rod Dedeaux coached USC.

It’s going to be a back and forth battle between Jay Johnson and Vitello. I can’t stand Vitello I respect what he’s doing at Tennessee. Both are young and both aren’t going anywhere. It’s going to be fun.

Not only is he a great coach but he loves recruiting in the modern era, which many coaches hate.
