Alien by Mugler... yes, a weird name for a perfume and designer... but it smells like a high dollar escort.
Daisy by Marc Jacobs
If you're into Ed Hardy and looking for a cheap way out, Love Kills Slowly is also a good one.

Chanel Gabrielle is my absolute fave

This is my regular. Love it because it's not too floral but still feminine.
Also a fan of Jimmy Choo's I Want Choo. That can lean more floral but still not too overwhelming.

Chance by Chanel is what my old lady wears and I like it.

Also, since you're going to buy without your partner present, I'd say get a sampler set that has a couple different scents by a nice designer. That way you cover the bases and if she really likes one, then you can get that in a full bottle for the next holiday.
Keep in mind that scents smell very different once they're on the body and what might smell good off the skin may not be as good on it. Also, what smells good to you might not smell good to her.

Absolutely this.
I spent the $350 or whatever it is for Baccarat Rouge after it getting so many raves, and it made me sick wearing it.
I have a huge drawer of perfume sample bottles in my bathroom, and I take notes of which ones I really love vs. which ones I definitely do not want.

That’s a great idea actually. Perfume is such an intensely personal thing

This!!
Each scent will smell different on different people. Also, there are people like my wife who are somewhat sensitive to perfumes. We always have to try before we buy. I have given her several high end perfumes which caused headaches and eventually passed down to my daughters.
Now we go to the store and she and I smell several and then she wears one we both like. If she doesn’t get a headache then we buy it. We have to do the same for my colognes.
I think it’s important for both people to be involved since you will both be smelling it when together.

This stuff is amazing. Love when my wife wears it.
La Vie est Belle by Lancome and Parisienne by YSL are my other favorites of hers.

I want to try Baccarat rouge too but I rarely get to the stores. Do they have a place locally that sells it?

My college age daughter has Baccarat Rouge and loves it. Her biggest compliment getter is one we handed down because my wife couldn’t wear it, Atomic Rose by Initio.
My youngest wears Gentle Fluidity Gold by Maison Francis Kurkdijan and gets compliments all the time.
