If you are paying more for one of Hulu's ad free subscriptions, just be aware that you will likely start seeing some ads now.

Hulu's new subscriber agreement includes this bullet point:

• We are clarifying that, as we continue to increase the breadth and depth of the content we make available to you, circumstances may require that certain titles and types of content include ads, even in our 'no ads' or 'ad free' subscription tiers.

This could be serious or it could be something as simple as peotecting themselves from legal action from people complaining about product placement in a show even though they paid for the "ad-free" subscription.

Such as Coors Banquet in Cobra Kai.

It happens with every good thing. You gotta cut the cord, it’s great, watch what you want, no commercials, less than cable.

Now, here we are.

If I get an ad in the middle of a movie or show I'm canceling on the spot

I wonder if it means Hulu has plans to broadcast live sports, which would make sense for ads during normal TV timeouts.

On the ad-free Hulu? Or are you talking about Hulu Live?

I think it's really only if you have ESPN+ as well, but they've made it such where you can watch it from the Hulu app.

We all knew deep down that this is exactly how it was going to turn out. None of these providers (cable, studios, streaming svcs) were going to just allow us to avoid ads. The only way you are going to avoid ads, is to stop watching tv period.

I don't mind them previewing a show, but damn.

As I'm sure former Dallas Cowboy & South Carolina Gamecock Darren Hambrick would ask...

Context for non-Cowboy fans:

Dallas Observer Best of 2001

quote:

Darren Hambrick lashed out at the media for making something of his tardiness. "I missed a voluntary camp," he said incredulously to a pack of reporters. "What do 'voluntary' mean?"

Or go back to cable and watch only premium channels, TCM and Fox movie channel between 2 AM-2 PM.

Ive noticed the last couple of weeks while watching Special Forces: Worlds Toughest Test. I have full boat hulu and the last two weeks the replays have had ads in them. and im not talking a 30 second spot here and there. Im talking full blown OG tv 4 minutes worth. Super annoying.

Same thing applies to Disney+ and ESPN. Smells a like a class action lawsuit coming. Promise one thing for a fee then pull a bait and switch.
