So I take it you are satisfied with how it all ends?

My son is a big fan of the series but he was disappointed in this season so far. I think he's watching the newly-released episodes today so I'm looking forward to hearing his thoughts.

I just texted him and he said he watched it and he didn't like it. Here are his exact words:

I just watched the final episode; it wasn’t very good. I thought the writing was terrible; they could’ve done a lot better. it’s just predictable

I didn't think it was terrible. But predictable

3 parts for a season? shite is getting ridiculous.

Exactly. There were multiple parts that were predictable. A couple that were definitely not! A few highly emotional moments. Overall, it was fun as hell. Great conclusion to the overall arc of these characters. I think Johnny and Daniel's characters had perfect endings.

He said Sam and Tory end up as besties at the end which seems kinda unrealistic

Also I saw the actor that plays
Robbie and the girl who plays Sam are engaged irl

What’s wrong with predictable? I mean, isn’t the whole Cobra Kai series “fan service”?

It was absolutely awesome at doing that. Without giving actual spoilers - it did justice to the stories of Johnny and Daniel, as well as all four of the younger leads (who all couldn’t “win” the tournament obviously, but got satisfying endings).

It even brought a little redemption to Kreese.

My actual biggest complaints would be that during the final fight, they had a lot of “extras” in CK gis that you’d never seen before, and they also brought back Stingray for a scene (who just seems annoying).

How old is your son?

Keep in mind, I'm 47--nearly 48, and watched the original KK in theaters twice as a kid. It's one of my favorite childhood series. I enjoyed the hell out of "old" Johnny and Larusso figuring out how to be actual adults in their "karate world."

No spoilers but in an age of sagas ending poorly and just dumb…..did the Karate Kid saga get the saga the most right that we’ve seen in a while? Admittedly there were some missteps like the Next Karate Kid but I think overall the saga turned out fantastic and the Cobra Kai series played a huge huge part in that.

I thought that most had at least trained at CK at some point in the series….maybe need to rewatch that fight.

There was some cheese factor at the end but that’s a part this whole series

That was about as perfect as you could have ended the series
