On Pro Football Talk this morning Florio said that while he was in New Orleans last week for the Superbowl he spoke to someone "in the know" about the Saints who told him Jon Gruden is in play for Kellen Moore's OC.

That’s a very weird fit. Wouldn’t Moore be running his own offense?

That doesn’t sound right, and I hope it’s not true

Gruden in the QB room ONLY if we're sticking with Carr and trying to win over these next 1-2 years is not a horrible idea. But, i see Gruden as only a bridge guy of knowing Carr's strengths best and can help Kellen implement a new age offense that is best suited around Derek Carr. I would still see this as Kellen's show.

I don't understand the hype that Gruden is a good coach

Probably because he’s won a lot of games in the league and has a Super Bowl on his resume ?

If you’d like to say he’s not a great coach, then go ahead but it’s stupid to try and argue that he’s not a good coach

Yes

Sean Payton and Micky Loomis did irreparable damage to the Saints franchise in that regard

It seems like Gruden's name has been associated with the Saints for a while now.

Ever since he was a consultant that time in the off-season I think it was when Carr first came down here?

Why invite the eye of Sauron to look at the Saints even more:

Just weird. He’s the same age as Payton and seems pretty rejuvenated if you watch him lately on anything. We’re in a weird spot anyway. May as well make it fun.

People should hate this.
1. Goodell will go back to buttfricking us
2. Moore has no connection to Gruden. Our front office is the only idiots in the league still entertaining Gruden and they'd be forcing him on Moore.

I am with you on this one. He won a SB in his 1st year in Tampa, with Tony Dungy's team, and then got progressively worse until he was canned. His 2nd stint in the NFL with the raiders he never won over 8 games in a season. His overall coaching record is 117-112 (51.1% wins).

For comparison Jeff Fisher has a better overall winning percentage (173-165, 51.2%) and literally nobody wants him coaching their team, yet Gruden is constantly talked about like he's some great coach

So does Mike McCarthy and no one is beating down his door now.

Here's Gruden's record, not spectacular

Postseason: 5–4 (.556)
Career: 122–116 (.513)

Frick Goodell. Quit being a pussy.

This team isn’t winning anything anytime soon.

But his record got dragged down by sucking with the Raiders. No way sucking with the Raiders will translate when you get to the Saints.
