Listened to a podcast today of Auron MacIntyre interviewing a South African guy deeply involved in the Boar protection/political movement. He was saying how it cannot be overstated how massive of an effect Trump’s statements this week have had there.
The ruling government is in panic over it. It’s the first time since the 90s they have ever been called out directly. They had become weak and passive and assumed they only had the world’s good graces forever and could do whatever they want. They have no immunity to global scrutiny, don’t know how to handle it.

I assume he will before long. They are our little puppet state anyway that we use to test social policies we want to try here
Though Trump has mentioned he and Starmer have gotten off to a good relationship, so hopefully that isn’t an indication that he won’t.

We should take them into the U.S. if that's what they want, but South Africa is their land. They were there first and have been there for almost 400 years. They shouldn't give it up and pull out.
