I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a more believable performance. It’s also one of the best major reversals I’ve seen to conclude a second act. Did not see that coming.
If you like great performances, passion, humor, twists, and a lot of nudity this is the film for you.

Mikey Madison is fantastic, really hope she wins the Oscar. Wanted to jump into the tv & beat the shite out of Ivan after he bailed. That ending was just heartbreaking.

It was a good one time watch, felt like it dragged but the goons and the lead actress were really great. Definitely think she should win best actress she was incredible.

I agree with your sentiment regarding random spoilers, but you also clicked on a thread regarding a film you haven't seen yet, obviously, there is going to be some risk.

The scene where the goons first catch wind of the marriage and attempt to enter the mansion and she has to be held down. That was fantastic film making

Watched it last night an loved it. Although it does feel like it was a modern/dark rewrite of Pretty Woman.
Even some of the lines were identical... when they are negotiating her weekly rate.. they agree on 10k. She says I would have done it for 5k. He says I would have paid 15k.

All right, just watched this on Hulu and I gotta say I don't understand how this won Best Picture, or was even in consideration. It wasn't actively bad, but mostly boring (except for boobs). Everything that happened was predictable and obvious. I keep hearing that it was funny, but I can't imagine where I was supposed to laugh. When the thugs tied her up? That was supposed to be funny? It wasn't sad or scary, but also was definitely not funny.
Spoilers:
At no point was I given any reason to believe Ivan actually loved Ani. He treated her like a whore and was obviously spending someone else's money on her. Was it supposed to be a twist when he turned out to be a piece of shite? I also never believed Ani was stupid enough to fall in love with him, although I'm sure she liked the idea of being rich and escaping her life. Outside of Mikey Madison, most of the other actors seemed untrained and stilted. Igor was fine as the thug with a heart of gold, but we've seen that trope a million times. I just don't understand the love for this movie, somehow it missed me completely.

She was aggravating as shite also but I guess that was the point of her character and her great acting skill.
