What a freaking terrible idea. Whoever introduced this should be run out of the legislature.

That's really awful when you think about it. Tax free education and tax free pay for play, all so the football team can have a recruiting advantage. And, a lot of people will cheer this on who don't have close to what these players now have and have to pay taxes on what they earn.
We provide tax incentives to industries that are bringing new jobs into the state because that will increase tax revenue in the long run. What is the benefit to the people of Georgia for Georgia to land that 5 star QB over Tennessee or Alabama? Are they saying that college recruits bring in more revenue to the state (not just the university), and thus, more jobs?
I'd love to see an economic analysis of this bill.

They’ve ruined HS football too.

Even the biggest fans are quickly getting turned off by NIL. The average taxpaying fan is not going to be in favor of this, regardless of the state or program they support.

These politicians trying to pass NIL targeted bills simply to help their state football school are absolutely shameless and idiotic

So question…what’s keeping any random Joe from playing golf for the local community college, and then getting his salary from his real job as “NIL”, in an attempt to avoid taxes?

Georgia getting desperate not to make it another 40 years.

Well win at least one more with Kirby in the next 5 years. Kirby is the best there is and he'll adapt. He always does.

Kirby is the second best there is.

Behind The Sith Lord, yes.

Day is a really good coach and I thought it was absolutely ridiculous that a lot of OSU fans wanted him gone. Dude has a nearly 90% win percentage against teams not named Michigan and people wanted him gone.
But he's not Kirby.

No shite. Seems like every day I find another reason to hate the government.

He sure isn't. If we played in the SEC East, Day would have 3-4 championships by now.

Ok, this is where the conversation ends.

Oh wow, I can’t believe this sort of shenanigans would ever happen in Alabama!
