Reading Tulsi's vote will be "closed door"?

Guess that's for statements prior to/after the vote, but that we'll know who voted how?

Someone will talk. Someone always talks.

Can't find the answer to that. Bad news if we don't. No-voting Republicans would be shielded from repercussions.

Anything that is closed doors is basically code for frickery without facing any repercussion for actions. I never trust that shite even if the outcome is what I want.

Isn't it public record if it goes to an official vote?

People that don’t want to publicly defect from their side are trying for protection.
However, there are very few secrets in this world.

Allegedly this is SOP but I can't confirm that.

For the DNI job it is; don't panic, she'll get in.

Help my simple mind understand the logic here. I get that there are some questions/answers that are best not broadcast to the whole world. But what justification is there for the vote itself to be secret? I don’t get it.

Filth want to vote no, and they don’t want backlash.

OFFICIALLY what they talk about and the vote happen simultaneously but like someone else said, it's to cover their asses.

All secret, anonymous, or otherwise closed door voting by our representatives should be constitutionally illegal. There are ZERO instances where the public should not be allowed to know how their representative is voting on their behalf.
Closed / classified briefings, sure. Closed / anonymous voting? Never.

Can’t keep a secret in DC
Posted on 2/4/25 at 1:34 pm to udtiger
We shouldn’t accept a secret vote

Tulsi will go to the Senate floor for confirmation vote, she was just put forth on a 9 to 8 vote to face a full Senate confirmation vote.

Assuming Collins is a flip to yes (from Pete) and nothing else changes, should be 51-49 w/o Vance (assuming Murk and Turtle are no).
Fetterman I think is a maybe vote for Tulsi, but likely not if it is crucial because Chuck won't let him.
The other Rs appear to be in line (most were on the committee, notably Collins.)

So should political retribution and insurrections but here we are… pick your side and stay on it. Can’t have both

I've been frustratingly ideologically consistent. I'll take political retribution over hiding a politicians official activities on behalf of their constituents from their constituents every time.
