Imagine expecting your supporters should give you 10% of their hard earned income...just because...year after year...

Ask the church

I've increased what I give over over the years, but with young kids in the family, 10% is very hard with the prices of goods and services today. I think the overall loss of attendance in churches is hurting their budgets more.

I only read the Bible and pray at home. I don't believe in going to Church.

Tithing is not just income.

pastor(owner) of the church my wife and daughter attend had to step down last year because it was revealed that he sexually molested a 12 year old girl a few years back, no worries, he's worth over $100 million and owns all of the property of the multi campus mega-church

its tough to do on a monthly basis.
i've had a few windfalls in my life however, and i absolutely sent 10% to the church before enjoying the proceeds.
i figured since it was something i wasn't expecting it was the least i could do to honor God.

A lot of churches wreak of grifting money making schemes. I agree with you

You mean you don’t need a pastor in skinny jeans and a giant fossil watch to tell you what you’re doing wrong and why if you give him money your life will improve

Exactly. It was beneficial back in the day when majority of the population was illiterate or couldn't read translations of the Bible.
In 2025, I don't need some glorified car salesman or celebate man to read the Bible for me and don't need the Church for me to make a positive impact on the community.

Imagine not knowing the Bible and that giving 10% was a Jewish law. The new testament says to give from the heart.

It's a shame that's the only value you've ever found in a church. It took me almost 40 years to find my church and I'm glad I did. the right church offers so much more than just someone reading the bible to you.

I believe in giving 10 percent but it doesn’t have to all be to the church.I like giving to Shriner’s Hospitals.

I loved the church I grew up in. I despise these large mega churches since I’ve moved to a big city.

I have family members that are preachers and own Churches.
They live a very luxorious lifestyle and take advantage of simple North Mississippi people.
They are very similar to the Gemstone family in "The Righteous Gemstones".
I can't give them my money knowing they'll go buy a fishing boat, new deer stand, or go on vacation with it in a few months.
