Multiple streets closed for the next 2 weeks. Construction crews blocking streets everywhere. They are laying asphalt right outside the entrance to my parking garage..... at rush hour.
Nothing like waiting until the last minute to do years of neglected street work.
Oh, and all these ad wraps on high rise buildings. So stupid. Meanwhile the Plaza Tower continues to drop debris on people's heads.

That is what happens when you hold a mega-event in a third-world country.

Closing poydras for 2 weeks before the Super Bowl should be impeachable. Who in the world signed off on turning it into a pedestrian tent?

I'm sure our mayor has been getting tips about improving roads from all her trips around the world

I'm pretty sure that was the one main building they really wanted to wrap, but I think it has become such a crumbling disaster that there is no way to get up there to do so at this point.

I’m expecting NOLA to have a city wide boil water advisory on Superbowl weekend.

Helena Moreno as crazy wacko super liberal as she is would be a giant improvement over the shitshow we are in now

The only glimmer of hope for her would be, if she actually is able to recognize how terribly things are going of late for these other mayors who tried to come in on these crazy wacko super liberal agendas, and understand the need to throttle back on all that a good bit.

Yeah that’s not how crazy people operate.
Guarantee for her the issue isn’t the policies, it’s Latoya.

I spoke to her in person at a fundraiser recently for awhile, and she assured me in different words that would be the case.
She understands that crime is far and away the biggest issue on everyone's minds, as well as the dysfunctional government and horrific infrastructure.
She basically said we need someone who is actually there, and works hard, that can get this city back to basic functionality, because we have dipped far, far far below that even basic standard

There was definitely a hint of that there with her. But she also said some things that made sense to me.
I'm not going to agree with her on a lot of things politically, but someone that actually works hard would be one step

So…I (maybe stupidly) agreed to go to the Pels game on Wednesday night. Leaving BR around 5. What’s my best strategy to navigate this mess?
