How about Mayers last 2 outings?! Its the most efficient 2 innings of his college career!
Posted on 1/27/25 at 9:46 pm to Strike3
If Mayers has started to find control he’s going to be an animal. He’s got nasty stuff
Posted on 1/27/25 at 9:49 pm to Strike3
Mayers was very hard to hit last year. If can control the walks he will make a big impact this year.

What's the schedule look like from here?

Switch Noot and Fontenot. Noot went 3IP 4K/0BB 2HBP 1H 0ER

There should be 6-8 more scrimmages before the season starts 2/14. They are normally announced early the week of, weather not withstanding. I post the schedule when available.

Scuba and Wild are two dedicated men.

Noot looked improved. He hit 95mph. He had two HBP back to back but pitched out of it. It was an improvement over the fall. Encouraging.

Honestly, I'm not worried about the pitching or offense. Those two phases have been competitive and at times dominant during Jay's tenure. I am more interested in seeing how we fair defensively. If we can play good defense behind our pitchers I would expect a great season from LSU because we have the bodies for competitive pitching and Jay has proven he will field a good offensive team.

Catching and SS are the two biggest concerns on defense. I think we will be fine but I wouldn't consider them strengths

When do we get Adams analysis?
Posted on 1/28/25 at 6:46 am to LSUGoose
If I remember correctly he starts those Feb 1 (ish) leading up to opening pitch feb 14

Yeah don't think you see an everyday starter at either of those positions and the outfield likely sees 5/6 guys playing as well. But not really concerned about the outfield. Its more the infield and behind the plate.

Correct, Feb 1 is the start
