theres a video of the events of that day on Youtube i watched the other day.
Its not editorialized or dramatized. Its a simple aerial view of the events with narration of whats happening and some on screen graphics for clarity.
It brought me to tears.

We ask the National Medal of Honor Museum to revise their decision to not represent John Chapman's sacrifice and deeds amongst their exhibits. The Museum's choice to honor Britt Slabinsky without acknowledging John Chapman appears influenced by politics and seems like an extension of the Naval Special Warfare's efforts to diminish Chapman's contributions.
It must be noted that John Chapman, only the second recipient recorded during his actions, is an invaluable source of historical authenticity. The omission of this crucial element from the exhibits is an ill-conceived misstep and a disservice to Chapman's memory, to his bravery, and to the sacrifice he made for the nation. Please revisit this decision and consider paying fitting tribute to John Chapman in one of the 200 exhibits.

Is it the one shown in IR and they get surrounded on a hilltop?

If it's the same version I saw, it was narrated by the author that wrote the book about him, "Alone at Dawn."

Isn't there a video? I'm remembering snow, mountain top, boulders, unbelievable heroics in combat, and the name John Chapman. He's a definite legend. MOH museum is dropping the ball on this.
eta: Yes, that's the one. I cried.

They aren’t dropping the ball. This is intentional.
Guess who’s on the board of the museum? The team leader who left him and was awarded the MOH prior to
Chapman, after NSW tried to block Chapman from getting it in the first place.

Is Slab really that big of a POS?

That’s what the allegation is anyway, and why the petition is going around.
Obviously not something they’d advertise so it’s kinda a they said/they said thing.

A substantial portion of Naval Special Warfare is and has been pieces of crap.
Intercept Article - Crimes of SEAL Team 6
This article mentions other outcroppings of Navy Special Warfare and Robert’s Ridge.
The SEAL Community has been overcome with liars in the public, like Chris Kyle, Luttrell, O’Neil, Bisonnette, etc.
Other units are not immune either.
Green Beret Tim Kennedy has recently been called out for essentially faking large portions of his military past.
Society idolizes these folks and then they are tempted to lie to monetize this canonizing by our culture.

Good men die when foolish men stack risks out of hubris.
It’s a tale as old as time and it’s more prevalent in certain communities.

The seals left the Air Force guy there whether he was dead or not, they should have attempted to recover him.
Video shows it’s possible he was still alive and in the fight and seals want to dispute that and cover it up because they left him there alone.
Seems despicable and if the seals left a live US soldier there, it calls into question the seal leaders MOH.

After reading a bunch about the whole operation and listening to interviews of various participants (particularly the interviews of Nightstalker's - like Alvin Mack), it always seemed to me it was NSW upper brass trying to cover a disastrous operation up not necessarily the ops on the ground. It would be real shitty if Slab has a personal vendetta for some reason.
It also seemed that the "SEALs left him" was a little overblown given the situation and the fog of war. Should the SEALS have acted differently, probably in hindsight. But, they also left their own teammate - Roberts.
Listening to the Nightstalker interviews sheds some light to the fact they were trying to do everything they could to get personnel up there and in the fight.
Apparently, there was one of Chapman's teammates on a near by mountain that received all of Chapman's last radio calls. I don't think those have ever been released but would be incredible (and sad) to hear.
