Looking for recommendations for Turkey Vest's. This year will be my first real go at Turkey hunting. I've shot a few but its mostly been sheer luck. Appreciate any recs in advance.

My favorite is ol’ Tom. Basically because they’re lightweight and made to breathe. I think I have the time and motion. Not sure what my old one is or if it’s made anymore.

I like my Knight N Hale Run N Gun 200.
Kind of a minimalist vest.
I actually started using it deer hunting and stopped carrying a backpack.
I use the butt pad as extra cushion in a stand or pick a place to sit in the woods for deer.

I would get something cheap until you figure out if you even like wearing a vest. I used a mossy oak strap vest for a few years but found I only needed a couple pockets and a seat, so I wear my bino harness and clip the seat pad from my old vest to my belt loops.

There’s no perfect turkey vest, but Ol’ Tom works fine for me

Solid rec, almost bought the sitka vest the other day, and stopped and said the same thing to myself. Lot of money for something I don't even know if I'll like wearing lol.

The Sitka vest has poorly designed clips in the front. They come undone constantly whenever bending over.

I’ll add to the figure out what you need it for advice. Depends on how much stuff you are carrying. I have an older vest from Cabelas with a big pouch on back that I can carry a turkey lounger, food, drinks, loppers, and decoy.

I use the Sitka if I know I will be run and gun.

I have this one and like it a lot. It is very adjustable and I can get it just right. I also have a badlands and while I want to really like it I'm just not a big ol' baw and can't seem to get it cinched small enough to fit me right. I'll still carry it rather than the K&H when I feel the need to bring an entire flock of decoys.

Thanks for the info, I would like to go as light as possible this season, and add things as I learn what works for me down the road. I believe I'll grab a simple vest or fanny style pack for now and figure it out as I go.

I use an old Primos vest. I have a turkey wing in the game bag. Bottle of water. Printing shears. Thermocell. Whatever calls I want to tote.

I used a Cabela’s Tactical Tat’R for many years. Eventually the seat got worn through and the zippers failed. Great bang for the buck though.

Picked up a Mr Fox unnumbered in 23’. It’s one hell of a vest. Comfy as it gets. Fortunately; I got it directly from Mossy Oak as it sells for a markup on E-Bay.

If being honest; invest in a decent vest that will hold what you need. Then get a good turkey chair. For real; it’s the difference between hanging for 20-30 minutes and a few hours. Once your haunches start bothering you; the hunt is over. The seat on very few vests are good for much more than an hour. A good chair can have you there all day if needed.

I have a Badlands turkey vest. Hunted with an Ol Tom for years. Both are excellent.

I have been giving serious thought to just using a chest pack and my turkey chair.
