Some fans are just delusional about the state of the franchise, believing that this job was super desirable. The reality is setting in.

I am glad we didn’t up with him. I don’t want a defensive head coach with no experience. All things equal I’d rather have Brady. I’d rather have an offensive minded coach.

Bottom line is this: Saints are an undesirable place to coach right now because of Loomis and everything that comes with him. Also the fact Sean P basically ran away from us as fast as possible doesn't help much either.

We're in a bad spot. All the cap bullshite, expiring contracts, dead money + Keeping Mickey means that whomever we get next is just a placeholder while we dick around with old players and let old contracts come off the balance sheet. We'll be stuck with it until we flame out more and have a few losing seasons. Then and only then will Gayle shitcan Mickey and hire a GM. Then begins the rebuild.

Right now we're in NFL purgatory.

We are in cap hell because of Mickey, not Drew. Was Drew overpaid in his last few years, sure; but Mickey did that deal and all the others that are breaking the cap now.

Coaches wont come here now because they KNOW they won't have the budget to assemble top talent. Our cap problems are not a secret. Mickey did this and should be made to pay. He won't. But if Gail had balls he would. I understand he was involved in creating the best team and best decade and a half of football my hometown has ever had. But he got lucky giving Drew a deal and picking Sean for that 1st HC gig. It was luck, because if it was skill it would have replicated. Pure.luck and Mickey has sicked in the last 6 years. Now the Saints will suck until he is gone.

Gail or Dennis L should fire him.

There are only 32 of these jobs available. But people do tend to take the best opportunity like everyone, like to coach teams they played for etc...

But for the doom and gloom people. If the winner of the big titty contest doesn't want to go out with you, do you really feel like you're settling when the runner up wants to?
