Sitting in a box blind with son and heater rolling. Snow everywhere. Same stand my daughter killed her buck yesterday. After a big 10. Never thought I’d see this in a million years. I want a snow buck today. Good luck everyone

Area 6 public
5° calm
Mathews phase 4

In my saddle, in my lone wolf hybrid stand. Same spot as yesterday. Saw a young 8 yesterday morning, and about 9-10 does and a spike in the evening. Hoping a good buck comes through this morning. Good luck!

If it wasn’t for my yearly trips to the Midwest, I probably wouldn’t have the gear to do it. Haters can hate on Sitka all they want, but I’m warm lol

I could make a hunt today if I really wanted to.
I haven’t killed a deer in two years, so it’s tempting.
But honestly, I don’t think I want to clean a deer in this weather.
At least I’m not at work.

I saw a little buck crossing a 2-lane road this morning right in the middle of town around 8 am. I had just finished dropping my kids off at daycare and saw him when I was at a red light. He walked to the edge of the road, looked both ways, then casually walked across into someone's backyard. I need my kids to take a lesson or two from him. The temperature on my truck was showing 9 degrees at the time.

I “sprung” for decent clothes getting some Nomad bibs and jacket. Kept me pretty warm yesterday evening in my climber.

I do want some Sitka though

It’s worth it. This morning I had on the core merino 220 bottoms with the 330 over them, then the mountain pants. On top I had the core merino 120, 220, then 330. Then I put the fanatic bibs and jacket over that. It was a little bulky, but at 4°, you’re gonna be bulky regardless. I was still able to climb up my sticks and draw my bow with ease though.
I know a few guys that wear first lite clothes, and they all have good things to say too. Either brand will get the job done.

Back at it. I moved spots midday to a spot I scouted about a week ago. There’s tracks in the snow all over around my tree. Decided to come hunt it as soon as I saw the wind was shifting out the south. There’s a cutover tract south of me, so the south wind is perfect.
Good luck!

Fourwheeler had rats chewing on the ignition wire, so hoofed it about 600 yards to go pull a camera. See a doe about 100 yards in just standing, eating. We stare at each other while the wife is calling me, making fun of us having a stare down. (She’s in my truck with the girls)I put the phone in my pocket and see the doe take off running, I scope back up and see rack! Had to let the 35 bark. Way to cap off the season.
