In 2002 the Pass interference call Against Miami

In 2014 they won as a fourth seed because they did away with the BCS. TCU should have been the number four seed, but Ohio State got in because of name.

And this year they won as a number eight seed because the playoff got expanded again. Ohio State has never been the number one team in the country for a championship game.

Burrow was a nobody sitting on the bench. He wasn’t gifted to us and we surely didn’t buy him like you guys did with all your players.

If only you guys could send us some good defensive backs and safeties. The ones we got so far were bums.

2002 - Miami won that game, but the score shows otherwise.

2014 - agree, but happy about this because Bama would have probably won it all.

2024 - agree, the regular season isn’t as important anymore. I do like that other teams make the playoff that aren’t used to making it though.

Should have never gone to overtime in the first place. OSU got screwed on their last possession of the fourth quarter. Chris Gamble caught a pass on third down that was in bounds, yet the officials ruled him out. If the correct call is made, they would have been able to run the clock down to under 30 seconds, and could have salted the game away with another first down.

This is a bad take....

Even as a staunch opponent of do-overs. Ohio State lost to Oregon, end of story, chapter, verse. The CFB season needs to matter to keep the sport viable.

Takes a few fortunate breaks for most. LSU has 3 since 2003 with one still debated, another purely acquired by divine intervention and a 3rd that was also gifted from the heavens to Orgeron for some reason with the anomolaic nature of it. They won games on the field. Games many assumed they didn't belong in.

There was also a badly missed PI that Miami committed. As much as any other game in CFB history, that one is the most misremembered.

Charles White's "Phantom Touchdown" won USC the National Title.

Nobody talks about it anymore.

As for being "misremembered".

Don't forget 2024: Allowing 4 Big Ten teams in the playoffs and keeping out a solid 4th SEC team.

It really is amazing how much manipulation it takes for them to win natties.

It's beyond obvious that the 12 team playoff was created to weed out the SEC. Sankey sold his soul to protect and baby Texas, for the money and he should be fired.

How is a title gifted, when they beat the teams in front of them in a game of football?

That “solid” 4th SEC team woulda been Bama. They would have been seeded 11. That Bama team wasn’t going to reel off wins at Penn St, against Boise, ND, and THEN Ohio State. They were way too inconsistent.
