I was looking forward to some boils but I don’t think we’ll be willing to spend that much on it. This kind of blizzard is going to make them scarce and expensive. Prices may never stabilize!

Guess you'll have to resort to frozen crawfish now

You just know they’re about to be damn near 15 dollars a pound now

Oh hell yeah, crawfish farmers about to get rich!

If prices go up it’s because there’s no crawfish to be caught. How do we get rich if there’s no crawfish out there?

It’s amazing that simpletons can’t grasp easy concepts such as this.

Prices are gonna go up as soon as the import tariffs go into effect anyway so you have that to look forward to

Just eat Gulf of America shrimp. Not sure why the solution is so hard for some of you.

So what is it? Is it a handout from Uncle Sam or tariffs on Chinese crawfish? You can just throw shite on the wall and hope it sticks

Tariffs are real. There won't be a handout unless someone can score political points from it.
But dont act like there havent been any.

WASHINGTON, May 10, 2024 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) has authorized policy flexibilities for the Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybee, and Farm-Raised Fish Program (ELAP) to help commercial crawfish producers in Louisiana recover from the impacts of extreme heat conditions in 2023 — heat that subsequently devastated 2024 crawfish production in many crawfish producing parishes in Louisiana. FSA is now accepting ELAP applications from eligible commercial crawfish producers

It’ll be at least two weeks before they come out of the ground.

Do you know what other crops were part of the ELAP?
Posted on 1/21/25 at 4:24 pm to SWLA92
Nawl
I think ELAP already existed and crawfish farmers convinced Landry to add them to the list of folks on the government tit

Livestock, honeybees and any farm raised fish. I don’t see you bitching about farmers that have cattle getting subsidized.

That’s right…if it takes 2 or 3 times as much labor to catch a sack of crawfish, it would seem to be obvious that the consumer has to pay 2 or 3 times as much for a sack!
