When ‘likes’ on social media are more important than your kid’s well-being.

Irresponsible with the ledge drop off. But the rest of it is fine.

Seems like a pretty tame hill to me. I would assume that there is another adult waiting at the bottom. I say send it!

I thought both as well, very cool but also irresponsible. Not sure how it ended but once he let go, anything could've happened on the way down without an adult along with him.

That said, my dad would've allowed my brothers to go down head first like the kid wanted.

I have no problem with it but I'd have an adult staioned at the bottom just in case.

This

That really wasn't bad at all. Him going off course could've been but it's obvious it's not the first time people have tubed that hill.

Ever go skiing? They have kids younger than that doing much more dangerous stuff.

You guys have never been sledding or tubing before? We used to do that with no parents to be found anywhere around. Kids go sledding all the time on their own.

Insert Not sure if serious gif ?

But the first thing my boomer dad when buying a new car was cut the seat belts out so that I didn't trip on them while walking around in a moving car at 5 yrs old.

Until he bought an El Camino and we just sat in the bed.

My cousins and I took a family vacation to Denver. We sat in the back of the pickup truck from Iowa to Denver. This was in 1983 or so when we were about 10 years old.

Nobody thought anything of it. Today my uncle would probably be arrested and we'd be put into CPS.

Society has gone way overboard with the coddling and helicopter parenting.

It’s fine as long as there isn’t any water down there. I learned that lesson

If he truly didn’t know where that other drop off went to that the kid was headed down(like he said “where does that go” )he is a fricking idiot. What if it is a dead drop off into rocks? Or trees?

Nothing wrong with it if it was scoped out beforehand. But he admittedly said he has no idea where it actually goes to

Big mistake. He's gonna be asking for bail money before you know it.
