didn't his leadership and focus lead to us not doing anything against a crappy AU team?

look i'm not trying to shite on the kid, but nothing he did made me think he was a leader

and there were multiple reports that he had no command of the huddle and could barely relay the plays in

Hey, I said if the "rest of the team" had played with his leadership and focus. The kid gave it all he had and got hurt. You gripe about those stats, but he didn't throw any interceptions. How big did that problem become? I stand by my statment. If the rest of the team had given what he gave, we'd have had a fine season.

appy state dropped like 3

and he didn't throw picks because he barely threw when he played, which was mostly early against a horrible early schedule

if he had to play as a starter against UF, UGA, USC, etc, he would have thrown his fair share

and he didn't really make any big plays throwing either. hell we had to run gimmick plays for him to throw TDs

Give it a rest.

Just for once let someone say something good about an LSU player without feeling you have to zoom in and crap all over them.

dude

go read the threads about lafell going pro

i say plenty of positive things about LSU players constantly

but i can't stand when players become overrated and some sort of legend when they weren't that good

i appreciate hatch's effort, but it's better for all involved that he take his services to a much lower division

Fair enough. However,I think we all know that Andrew Hatch will never become any legend in LSU folklore.

The problem with Hatch was that he had little physical potential. Typical to try and revise history when a good kid leaves/transfers. Great kid to have in the program. Wish him the best. Would like to see him stay. BUT, he is/never was an SEC qb, and the time in the spring and fall that he took snaps away from Lee and Jefferson is the real reason for the quarterback problems we had throughout the year. If Jefferson had been taking meaningful practice and game snaps from the start, he may have been recognized as the starter before we had 4 losses.

Nice post Doc !!

Hatch gave us great effort, and played an important role during the first part of the year. Hopefully he has some good memories from his days at LSU.

Jesus, how do we get by with those morons we have for coaches? And how stupid are we to let them coach when we have folks like you who not only possess mad coaching skills, but who, notwithstanding your distance from the day-to-day occurrences in practices and team meetings, are in possession of complete imformation about the preparedness and ability of each and every player. It's astonishing we can even manage to field a team, much less win games.

Unless I have missed something, this is the first thread I have seen on Hatch in some time. He has almost become the 'forgotten QB' after Jefferson came on strong in the bowl game, & looks to be our future leader. With all the talk of Lee, and his status, makes you wonder where Hatch fits in next year. However, since he did start the year anyway, will be interesting to see what happens in the Spring. I still think his freshman year, that RS will play as much wide receiver as QB, which could give Hatch some time to play.

Hatch will not be at LSU this year. That's what this thread is about.

In the end it doesn't matter a hill of SFP crap if Hatch was an All-SEC performer or total flop. All that matters is that #1, he was a Tiger and #2, he did the best he was capable of with class and dignity and suffered considerable physical pain in doing so.
He's the type of kid that typifies what sports should be about-someone who puts his team above himself and gives his all to help the team succeed.
I'm glad he was here and wish him the best for his future.
Thanks, Andrew!

Can we get off the Hatch handjob fest?

There are hundreds of guys "with the heart of a Tiger" that shouldn't see the field . . . they're called walk-ons. Why don't you devote a day to jerking everyone of them off?

Andrew Hatch was more than just a good kid, he was an SEC-caliber QB relative to what else was out there this season, and he DEFINITELY fricking earned his scholarship and proved himself a proud Tiger

Really...then why is he leaving

Had this young man been healthy, JL would have had the opportunity to develope. His injury was devestating to LSU in more ways that one.

but Richard Condon in his expert sports opinion said he's not a SEC caliber QB. And Richard has a radio show.

its all hindsight. hatch had more experience and at the time should have started. he did what he could while he was here. when he played the offense wasnt explosive, but it was consistent. thats something we didnt have without him. maybe if he didnt play or as much early things would be different, but not neccicarilly for the better. at this point hatch has transfered 3 times. he went to harvard. the dude is obviously smart. hes probably best off focusing on his academics and landing some bomb arse job where he can make some serious $$$ because we all know he wont be making it in the NFL. thanks for your time here and good luck wherever you end up
