Dammit. That’s right off PCH and across the street from a harbor and wildlife refuge. We go over there annually during the summer. Moss Landing is about 20 minutes north of Monterey and 30 minutes south of Santa Cruz. Beautiful area.

Because it’s an old power plant (fired by natural gas) converted to present use. That’s my guess.

It’s also a natural gas storage facility. But from what I can tell, it’s the lithium that is burning.

And how did this fire start? Accident? Sabotage?

California single handily destroying and erasing the entire progress of environmentalists for the last few decades in a couple weeks is ironic.

I for one cannot believe that abandoning clean burning natural gas and relatively safe petroleum products for hyper toxic and extremely dangerous metals and chemicals is having adverse effects.

Man this is really bad. Those firefighters will likely have to contain it as much as possible and just let it burn out. This is gonna result in a massive HF release. Terrible for the environment and the people that live there.

There goes the price of crawfish. Between this and the freeze coming, I will have to pull out my 401k to get 10lbs.

I was going to say this can't be good for the environment. But that was more so an assumption.

You seem to know. What is HF?
